Makes sense, he's the god of tyrants, and tyrants need cronies they can trust to delegate power to. The greatest murderers have no accomplices only future victims and for Mykrul having allies is pointless when you can just kill them and bring them back as a 100% loyal zombie.
Wouldn't be much of a life anyway unless released to Wyll and protected by Emperor. He is still tadpoled after all. But hey, it's his father... He is not exactly impartial and thinking straight.
OG-Gort _is_ awfully scruffy for an Archduke. Like he’s been up for days mainlining a cocaine-terazul cocktail and dictating the fifth draft of his autobiography.
Turns out most people are. I think the only character who habitually lies to you is the Emperor. Even Raphael is mostly honest (though his ending suggests not entirely…)
Yea gortash didn't rise to power by back stabbing everyone. I mean sure he kinda cheated his way up, but he knows the value of keeping powerful friends.
@@Mahvrynher mother was a Nobel a drow noble mind, she mentions having survived her first attempt on her life before she could eat solid food, she was born into gortash’s game, he thinks himself the king but mirintha is the board
This is why the Mizora conversation where he gains approval when you trade his father's life for his contract being broken really kind of makes me raise an eyebrow. If Wyll is so desperate to save his father that he will actually tell you to listen to Gortash when he should know better than to make a deal with someone manipulative enough to threaten the world for a bit of power (someone that we all know would turn us into slaves the second the artifact is out of our hands), then why on earth is he so nonchalant when you sign away his father's life on purpose?
@@guildwarrior3232 Maybe. All I know is I'd have handled it by having him disapprove and be disgruntled but ultimately agree, but then after you can earn that back + bonus with a successful persuasion check saying you plan to save his father behind her back. A failure could make him instead call you a fool for thinking you could beat the terms of a devil's contract, potentially even losing another point of approval. Feels more fitting especially considering this scene.
What bothers me the most is that you don't have the option to leave the decision up to Wyll. You can let Shadowheart choose how to handle Nightsong, you can let Lae'zel choose if she listens to Voss, you can let Astarion choose on ascension, but this life-changing decision for Wyll is left to Tav without even needing a persuasion check!
@@nomadicskylark I think that's one of the reasons that I am not interested in his character half the time. Stuff like that makes him feel like he has no agency of his own. A part of me wonders if that was what Larian was going for. A lot of Wyll's free...well, will, was signed away so maybe he forgot what it's like to not have someone telling him what to do. He can't fathom not having an authority figure to look up to.
Honestly Veilguard has some of the better outfits in the series. Makes me sad we only get Varric, Dorian, and Morrigan to see new outfits/designs for out of all the other characters (and two of those aren't much of a change).
@@TheodosiaNova, I agree. The variety of the outfits could be wider though. Especially for the dwarfs and some of known NPCs. But teammates armour is good. For me as the DA fan it's nice to see it in my 2d favourite RPG (BG3) since the times of Dragon age Origins.

He always does, your alliance stands as long as you don't enter Iron throne and/or destroy Steel Watch Foundry, as well as refuse to give him the stones in the end
I never once trusted the alliance with Gortash. I mean, he, Orin and Kethric were going to stab each other in the back. Also, Karlach wanted to get revenge for what he did to her.
The fucked up thing is when i first played this mission i was under the impression gortash was lying, so me and my party just ran in and killed everyone in this room assuming i could call gortash's bluff. I could not lol

Gortash actually comes across very trustworthy when playing as Durge. Detect thoughts even comes back clean.
I can't tell if this is a joke 😅

The fact that eveyone, including Gortadh himself, want you to not give Gortash the stones, except Wyll is weirdly funny
Im more invested in seeing the insane mods you installed over the rest of the content

Jaheira’s response took me out.
Also the fact that they’re all clean (Minthara’s a little bloody) and Astarion is absolutely _drenched_ in blood
Astarion just had to stop for a quick drink first is all.
Ok, but Gale with those cat ears ❤😂
Only Minthara know what gortash planned and in my opinion she are the most clever companio you can have in game.
She's drow matron of the house baerne, so nothing surprising
For someone with 8 int she seems to understand much; at least in the field of power and politics
