Yes, beaches get crowded in peak season. But I always advice people to avoid July and August and it is lovely outside the peak season. Thanks for your contribution. Appreciated 🤗
Makarska is unbearable in August, there is no room to even put a towel on the rocky beach, the promenade is like when a football stadium when it is emptying so many people! Very expensive destination, average two course meal for two is 80-100 euros with ok wine. I have just returned so these figures are accurate. Now for the positives: 1- Such lovely people. 2- really felt safe here. 3- spotlessly clean. 4- Dining out expensive but generally very good quality. Tip, keep away from the seafront to experience some really good authentic restaurants - Maka and Novak both on a road approximately 200 metres back from the beach. I wish I had done my research properly - may or June would have been excellent.
