I have a sample that I uploaded to pro tools in wave format. Pro tools won't allow me right click on the track. Is there a solution for this or is it not possible? Thx!
The thing that's kept me from doing more audio work in Fairlight is the editing tools were clunky in Resolve 16. But version 17 has a MUCH better multi-tool that works a lot like the way Pro Tools does. And the FONT PREVIEW in DR17 is a MASSIVE update I've been asking them for since version 15. The beta is pretty stable, only crashed a couple times on me so far (not bad for a beta), but I did have a problem rendering out this exact video. It kept clipping the audio in one location for no reason. Had to render the video out HIGH QUALITY, re-import, cut out the chirpy clipped section, and replace with the original audio.
WOW AUDIO TO MIDI HAHAHAH, "PRETTY COOL?" have you tried Logic, Studio One, Ableton, um Cubase? No hate on you personally, Pro Tools is an industry accepted outdated POS. They've been playing catchup for way too long.
Yes. I use several DAWs including Studio One, FL Studio, Reaper, and a couple more here and there. It's not that Avid invented this feature, they didn't. ARA was developed by Celemony and Presonus. Other DAWs have adopted the standard over time. And since Pro Tools is used in more high end studios (this doesn't mean PT will give you a better mix), Avid usually has to take slower steps when adding new features since multi-billion dollar TV and Movie studios depend on the software. Having this feature in PT is a good thing, even if it took them awhile.
My stereo audio track is simply not moving on an instrument/midi track, it's by passing and going to the next audio track, what should I do to fix that thing?
Question. On my rig get the crash error for cpu spikes and crashes a lot. Have you done some script affinity and processor optimizing ? How do you not get crash errors from pro tools. I have a very nice ample computer to not be having this errors :/
Is there a way to do this without melodyne? Because apparently I've accidentaly deleted or deactivated my melodyne 5 'cause it's asking me to enter the serial number of my product on the Celemony official site and pay for it. If someone knows how to solve this I would really appreciate it
what i need to be able to convert the amplitude of the audio into midi volume data (effectively envelope follower to automation conversion), is itpossible?
their support is terrible, their updates suck and dont even warrant hte money you pay. AVID customer "care" sucked so much, I had to post on their forums and then they finally escalated my issue. Basically, customer care never looked at it until i had to post about it. Bad support, bad updates, I hate the AVID ecosystem i'd say. Protools is alright, but a shit business model.
Once I installed PT, I couldn't uninstall it. I've since rebuilt my OS. I'll never install it again. Not even curious. I have 8 different DAWs that I flip between because I am curious George with music making.
Came here with the same issue + question. Logged into my melodyne account and downloaded the latest version. Closed & re-opened PT, authorized melodyne. Works like a champ.
Love your tuts and presentations!!! What screen capture software are you using on Mac and how are you getting it to render pro tools audio in stereo? I'm on Camtasia but this is still an issue for QuickTime as well when recording a screen cap. Could you make a video tut on this? :)
I use OBS, I also use Windows, but OBS works for Mac now. For the ASIO (pro tools) audio I use an audio interface with Loopback and route that into OBS. I then edit everything in DaVinci Resolve. Best of all, OBS, and Davince Resolve are totally FREE. Get yourself an audio interface with Loopback. I've been using the Focusrite 18i8 Gen 3 (make sure you get Gen 3!!! not 2) lately and it's super solid. There are other interfaces with Loopback as well like the Evo 4 or Evo 8, or Audient iD14 MKII - those are all pretty cheap. I also have a Presonus 1824c, but I think that only has loopback for Windows. Once you have an interface with Loopback you will never buy one without it.
The MIDI is muted or the Audio is muted? For the MIDI you'll need a virtual instrument to actually hear the MIDI. So make sure something is loaded and the MIDI track is routed to it.
Do you know if it's possible to take a recorded audio clip/sample and then use it as a midi instrument? For example: taking the beeping noise from a microwave, and then using a midi controller to play it like a normal midi instrument
What you are looking for is a sampler. There are many out there, Kontakt is one of the most used. Cut up your audio and import it into the sampler. Then you can play it like a MIDI instrument.

Super helpful!
Excellent video, really clear where others are not…😊
Similar Workflow with Unify from PluginGuru INSIDE DaVinci Resolve. I have good reasons to use this AS only DAW.

Protools blows donkeys

Does it work with melodyne 5 essential? (Thanks)
nice feature actually and nicely done... good to know, thank you very much!
nice features..should be useful when I get around to more advanced Pro tools functions
I don’t get that option to convert audio to midi ?
E for effort
Liked and subscribed thank you for this video ohh the possibilities and i love the end that you gave the midi consolidate bonus tip
I don't have Celemony as an option on my system, it just says "None" under plug-in.....
You should have a free Celemony Melodyne 5 Essential download in your Avid account if you don't already have it. Be sure to install it and try again.
@@BenoniStudio Under the Avid Link account or the Avid website account if the promo download is still available?
@@BenoniStudio Hey!! Can I use Melodyne 4 Assistant? If do, how do I set it up?

@@BenoniStudio I'm using an Apollo x8. I don't see any kind of loopback feature on it. Thanks for the great info!
Help! The celemony ARA doesnt appear on my preferences window!
Make sure you install your free Melodyne Essential found in your Avid account.

Ew, protools. I used to use this and I absolutely hated it.
PT is catching up to Studio one 4 👏
Pro tools is way behind most DAW
