Is this figure dated? Yeah kinda. Does it need a revive? Nah. I'd rather see a HGUC Perfect Zeong that brings something new, while having the option for an updated Zeong. So funny you just now reviewed this, just got mine in the mail! Great vid man!
Vladimir Mihnea if we do get an updated zeong they should do it like the perfect zeong mg and have the legs be optional with both legs and large thrusters included
Overall, there just isn't much there that would even see improvement from a revive. Sure, maybe touch up the design for pannel lining... but as far as joints go, you either just need to do a static pose with the beam effects, or it ignores joints (and gravity) entirely,
Overall, a nice "enemy" suit for a scene. It is strange and its gimmicks (including the improvised ones with beam sabers) take up enough area in order to dominate the center of a scene. This means you have have every other suit in the scene respond to these attacks (and prepare counter attacks). This dominance of an area is essential to make a scene that seems like something other than a bunch of gundams and GMS ganging up on a zeon suit.
I just built this and, wow, it's really grown on me. I have gone so back-and-forth with the Zeong, but... yeah, it built out well. Did a little fancy chrome-silver piping on the bottom and am going to look into using other bases with it because I don't like the one it comes with. Overall, the kit seems like it's aged well and I was excited and ecstatic to build it out!
I just put this together recently and I'd say it's a very good "beginner" kit especially compared to a lot of the modern HGs. I wish there was a "revive" version of this and not just a reissue so they could include some beam effects, stickers, and a better stand. However, you can replace the PC-C with a PC-D and use a Bandai Action Base. But I guess it's on to building the RG Zeon now!

I just bought the Zeong for my 1/144 collection, I was gonna get the real grade but I didn’t have enough money for it so I just got the High grade, based on the review, the older zeong looks good.

Anyone else feels like this is under scaled a little? I own this and its is a cool kit and a solid one. Simple but iconic and a must for fans of the OYW.
It's a shame the Zeong's hands are just plain huge, but the SD Zeong looks like it has hands in-scale with 1/144 kits (heck maybe 1/144 beam parts can fit in it's finger tips).
If I ever get a couple more ima make a zeong with psycho frames like the unicorn gundam and to build a neo zeong from scratch for it to attach to and the other to be used to build my custom version from gundam breaker mobile i plan on building my full team in hg
Cool review but you don't have to fully rotate pieces around just showing us briefly that they can turn a bit is enough to show that to a viewer. Also you didn't mention this but can it still be placed on an action base? The included base looks like it fits into a rather large hole but if that's to big for a action base I am sure it could be modded to fit one easily.

I got them from the pencil case where I keep all of my beam saber blades *sad horn* A few kits come with yellow beam sabers, like the GM II, Hyaku Shikis, Marasai and Doven Wolfs (HGUC, but with Mg Beam sabers)
I'ma just say this rn I hate the design of the zeong, and almost all of the prototype zeon suits. Don't get me wrong, zeon suits can look really good, Zaku or the one from 0080(I forgot the name but it started with a k), but the prototype suits just are creepy in my opinion.

Not only a HG Perfect Zeong, but one in the Origin line with a ton of mechanical detail and awesome articulation.

It's not bad for an 18-year-old kit. I've never been a fan of its design but I feel like picking one up to display next to my Neo Zeong Unit 2.

the elbows actually appear to be accurate to the animation, in the original show the zeong never bends its arms more than 90 degrees
Despite the large size I wouldn't want to mess with Zeong, can't a imagine a gunpla with Zeong hands as in a customize way.

I love this kit a lot. Too bad my head / neck connection is a bit loose. So the “head mode” came off too easily

Bought one yesterday from Amazon. Big fan of the original anime so I just couldn't resist. It's actually my favorite mobile suit.
This kits took me about less than half an hour to build..
It's the easiest kit that I ever built.

Nope. Pegs are way too small. You'd need some blue tack or something.

In my opinion the Zeong is the worst looking mobile suit so the fact they managed to make it a good kit? Hats off.

Maybe, though outside of a few tweaks, I can't really think of any major improvements they could realistically make with it.
