Im in the same boat. My want to feel skilled enough have kept me from making my projects for years.
it's a terrible place to be stuck in... I hope you start something this year!!!
@@CosmicSpectrumArt already am and just pushing forward. I hope to see your works at the end of the year
I love your style and your studies especially. Hope you enjoy your break!
Thank you!! :)
I’m pretty sure that we have gone back and forth about her before, but Sana Takeda is a queen of line economy and colour language. She is somehow able to use a bare minimum of lines to create a fully readable and expressive face while at the same time combine that with a stunning amount of detail (that when you look closely is based on very specific lines and use of well planned negative space). She is also able to use a very limited colour palette to build a very vivid world. It could be worthwhile to do some Monstress or Night Eaters studies as way of picking apart the stylistic choices that Takeda makes (either to re-interpret those into your style or decide what doesn’t fit with your style). As always, love seeing what you’re working on - keep up the fantastic work.
OMG I RAN your art is so inspiring fr i always get my sketchbook out as soon as i get ur RUclips notifications
yesss! always great to hear that ~ happy sketching!!
I’ve definitely been procrastinating on creating things I want to under the guise of wanting to wait until my skills improve so this was such an insightful video. And love your sketches as always❤
I've been doing that too and it's so hard to just do whatever you want to do. I've been procrastinating on and off for years but now I'm going to just try to do my best. Her video came at the right time
It would be cool to watch a video on your storyboard process.
i haven’t drawn in months…it feels really bad bc i know i should JUST draw something instead of doing nothing, but it’s been really hard…i love hearing other artists discuss their projects and goals, it helps with feeling normal 🥲
Happy New Year ❤. ❤ Waiting for your next series. Say hello to your kitty cat, MEOW .
storyboarding/ thumbnailing/ page layouts (whatever term is accurate) is really the most important part of the comic making process, but the most enjoyable part imo!!
it is! absolutely. the next most enjoyable part is finishing a page lolll
@@CosmicSpectrumArt FInishing pages is nice too, but Im ver slow so all the majo creative decisions are made by the time I start drawing. I like layouts because thats where I see the story for the first time
Thinking BEFORE actually drawing a line? MADNESS!
LOL can't tell if sarcasm, but for some of us it really is something that must be learned 😂
the drawings are so full of movement, very flowy🥰 and its great line work
I love your videos, I love it ☺☺☺
Love love love ur casual ballpoint sketch session, so thank uu!!! Quick side question - u mentioned that u always use a bullet journal - what do u use ur Hobonichi Cousin for then? Do u use any other planners? Good luck with ur many plans!!!
Thank you!! I typically use the bullet journal for overall planning monthly and weekly, and then icloud notes for micro-task breakdown on a daily basis. This is the first time i got a Hobonichi, and that was for fun, maybe jotting down some thoughts and making little sketches on the go (hopefully i actually use it lol, barely opened it this month so far unfortunately..)
Where do you find good reference images to study? all the ones I've found are so stiff lol. Love your style so much!!
My fav resources are: studio grafit (link in the description with a 20% off code), and Zeet studio sketch (google it :P )
Honestly I feel the same way… I've been wanting to complete many of my stories but I kept saying my skills need to improve but I ended up drawing other things instead of completing any story or drawig the characters in the stories. I don't know if it's me being overwhelmed or it could be that I am just one of those people like “ if I work hard on it and put it out there no one will see it or read it. “ because many times it has happened to me. I've worked on something and I put it out there, I was lucky that 4 people saw it. It also happened when I finally started doing commissions and only one person commissioned me. So it's scary and that's why I never finished it. 😢 It's because I know whenever I hope for something it never works out and when I don't hope for anything it still never works out. I don't know what I am doing wrong. 😔 I might just be unlucky and I've been trying for years now.. But I still want to complete the stories, I still want to make RUclips videos and I still want to do art and sell it. 😂 So yeah, don't give up y'all 😭 I am still pushing through even tho I am underrated asf it's okay keep going even if it takes 10 years! 🥹
Love your work
thank you 💕
