  • **Spoilers** You can do better. I outline some things that I didn't know about this card when I bought it. I didn't include it in the video but the coil whine is also insanely loud. Overall it's just a poorly designed GPU and you can do better for the money.

I had this tuned for baseline (global settings) and then for each game because the card works differently from game to game, you just have to mess with it:
    First take your side-panel off.
    Baseline (global settings):
    Radeon Chill Enabled
    60-120 FPS
    SAM enabled
    Surface Format Optimization
    FreeSync Premium Pro
    Under Tuning
Fan tuning 0 - 100% at max load
    Diablo 4 (game tuning)
    Under manual tuning:
    Power tuning enabled
    +15% power limit
    GPU tuning
    min frequency 0%
    Max frequency 98%
    (no voltage changes)
In game settings ( Set everything to High)
I found this guide as well and it's pretty on-point:
    www.sportskeeda.com/gaming-tech/best-diablo-4-graphics-settings-rx-6900-xt-rx-6950-xt
If you follow this you should be running at closer to 88c.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------
For Cyberpunk I run pretty much the same spec.
The better thing about cyberpunk is it has controls that allow you to run the game without ray-tracing.
Never run a game with ray-tracing. It's just useless and a wasted effort.
You can run most everything at psycho, but in the adrenaline software turn texture filtering quality to standard. It doesn't change much as far as appearances go, but it helps with performance.
Your card should be running at about 86-93 c.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
It goes without saying, but make sure adaptive multisampling is turned completely off. It's a waste of time and it will burn your card.
    It's an anti-aliasing method.
This whole review is for 2k gaming. If you're doing 4k, you're just sold outta luck for trying to make this card work. I wish you the best.

What are you playing? It runs fine on dead by daylight and some older titles where they're not consuming the resources entirely. It only really affects games that are new and use alot of GPU and memory.

  • @HekaWaset

Mate, you don't really know what you are talking about. This GPU was made almost exclusively for OClockers, not regular usage. If you know what you doing, you can make this card run dead quite and ice cold, you can also LN2 it and get better frames than next generation RX7900XT. It's not designed to be used like an Asus TUF card or whatever. I have a rig with this same card, and it's absolutely phenomenal, best card of its generation, from both camps. I wish you wouldn't have such strong opinions about things you clearly don't understand, or maybe that's exactly why you manage to have such strong opinions...you know that whole confidence + ignorance dilemma..

    • @DinnerTimeFan
      @DinnerTimeFan  6 месяцев назад

If it was made for overclockers it wouldn't burn up at 80 percent GPU utilization. You can undervolt it and it doesn't change that much. What I ultimately gathered is that the stock pads are too thick, there are some pads out there that are better for the card, but you shouldn't need to fuck around with thermal pads just to keep the thing functional. I would think you're trolling, or you're just being an obtuse fanboy but hate to break it to you the card is crap.

I agree. This gpu was made to beat the 3090 head to head.
To do that it has to pull as much power as it can and all that power ends up as extra heat.
When I run mine at stock 6900 settings, max clock 2250mhz, I can't get it to get hotter than 85 degrees on the hot spot.
I did need to repaste my card 1st. Paste job was very sloppy. 6.99 on Artic mx6 and card is ultra cool now.

  • @urospecanac
    @urospecanac 11 месяцев назад +3

I have the same card, mine never goes over 80c-85c on Hot spot, thats around 70c , fans are limited at 50% so never above that, what u have to do is just undervolt it to around 1110mv and u will have even lower temps... u can put Max mhz to 2500 with that undervolt and this gpu will work on less than 70c easly. And you can do few things more so it can run even lower temps super easy

In reponse to this card, if you trweak the settings this card runs perfectly. Approx. 66C CPU CLK at full load and 75C CPU JUNC TEMP. after applying the correct undervolting settings. I find that all AND card perform better after undervolting and overclocking. I own this card, and yes it ran a bit toasty before adjusting. This card is amazing!! (I did not remove the side panel)

i've considered this card, but given it's a 390 watt card, recommended psu being 1000 watts as per asrock's site, and needing 3x8pin power connectors is a turn off for me in addition to it running hotter and being huge and heavy. I think I'll pay a bit more and just get a 4070 super or 7900 GRE

Card is great. Don't be scared of it.
Make sure you have a case with good airflow so that it gets enough air.
The card may just need a repaste.
Chamber Tech has a repaste and teardown video that walks you through all the steps.
We shouldn't change to repaste our new GPU but if your having high temp problems it's quick and cheap fix that takes under 30 minutes and is a game changer!!!

I have this card and the hot spot is hitting temps of 115+ and occasionally just shuts down. I have tried turning the fans up to jet engine but it doesnt even budge the temps. Under-volting didnt make enough of a difference either. I am going to try re-pasting and re-padding it soon. Hopefully that will bring it down to stable temps. Its crazy that by default the fans dont even go past 50% speed, but I guess the reason is they are so damn loud when they go that high.

Man I don't know what I was thinking when I randomly youtubed my gpu but i couldnt relate more to a video. The thing itself is giant and was pretty painful trying to fit a 360aio and this in a case, and what you said about the power and heat problem is so spot on, first time i ran the card it just pumped it self to 100c so i thought i fucked something up, turns out as you said, its "designed" to run at those temps (assuming you are fine with the damn fan running at a million rpm). I tried fiddling with the settings and looking up online on what other people were doing but i never really got it to lock down onto what i wanted. Right now ive had this card for about, over a year? and I just declocked it enough to run my games fine but not turn my pc into a furnace.
Just curious, could you perhaps let me know what settings you were running (adreneline, etc etc) when you were gaming with it? Watching this video kinda made me want to try working on tweaking it again.
Thanks for the good video man.
