Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN) episode 189: Darkman. Darkman is a 1990 kinda-superhero, total-revenge movie by Sam Raimi. It bridged the gap between his work on Evil Dead and Spiderman. The game was created by Ocean for the NES in 1991. It sucks.

I loved the robo dark man nerd skit. He comes out of nowhere for absolutely no reason, the nerd screams at him angrily for no reason, and then he leaves and we never see him again, as if it never even happened. And I thought he sounded funny, too.

So pleased when he mentioned Robocop 2. It's even closer to the C64 version. Think Ocean did the batman game for the c64 too. Music is very similar.

There's a reason Durant returned in Dark Man 2. There was a Robocop cartoon in which Boddicker "returned". In the cartoon, he hadn't died, so supposedly most of what was in the movie hadn't happened in the cartoon. Yet in the episode it was said that he had returned. If none of the movie happened, what did Boddicker return from?
Anyway, Dark Man 2 was spoofing that with Durant's return.
AVGN started on VHS? That's some trivia I had no idea about.

I grew up watching AVGN videos. When he is done with bad old games, he can move on and review new bad games. He can't run out of games. Which means, I will watch AVGN even when we both become grandpas.

Always thought the bad guy in this movie, could of played a father to vandam in a 90s movie back then.
I wouldn't have minded a movie like that as Boddicker made a excellent villain and a worthy foe for Robocop to fight.

Theory: Their is a multiverse of AVGNS out there. The one from the Shrek ep was our main universe’s AVGN and he has died. Now we are watching another AVGN from another universe. This AVGN kept the classic episode style for all these years. Also RUclips didn’t demonetize him for his language because RUclips never put those policies in place.
