What a delightful exhaust pipe, probably the most beautiful I've ever seen. This is how every diesel should smoke, with delicious smoke that can contain 3 colors if you pay attention. The delicious black, the delightful blue and the cleanest smoke: white. The more smoke and poison comes out, the better it smells. So there can't be enough of that delicious smoke coming out, which is also heavily addictive and smells better than the most expensive perfume.

Only reason he got rid of either was because of electrical issues (Ford/Sterling trucks are notorious for it). But the Detroits still ran strong.

Should push the clutch while starting, and when motor cold I always leave it run 15 mins idle before putting on the high idle, to give time for expansion of seals,
15 minutes at low idle in cold weather when you are trying to warm up the engine does more damage to your cylinders, rings, and pistons. Crank it to 1,000 rpm after the black smoke clears up and it will heat up the engine faster. I work on these engines for a living.
