@@PCDev I loved it. The spa, the tours, the rooms, the entertainment, and the ship is amazing! For kids there’s the CAMP AT SEA program which my niece (7) and nephew (9) loved. I’d check it out. It’s a bit more in price than RC but oh man, is it worth it.

We were bored with dining in the same dining room each night. We couldn't get any reservations for any of the specialty dining. This was a few years ago. Not a gambler. I've only gotten seas sick when we had a cabin over the engines. We stay mid-ship now. I couldn't figure out why our beach day was so different from Dev's and then my husband reminded me that our beach day was in Haiti.

It's an exciting time for cruising right now. Mandates are getting dropped, and new ports coming online, new ships coming online. I am booked on 3 cruises this year. Carnival Glory, carnival conquest and disney wish. Royal is on my bucketlist as I really badly want to get on a oasis class ship. Someday. Great video dev. Thank you for taking us on your adventures.

The balcony is everything!! I had a balcony room on one of my cruises and it was fabulous. I could easily book a cruise and stay in a room like that the entire time! I loved having coffee and breakfast on the balcony each morning. Such a great way to relax. I'm not a fan of hot weather so I didn't spend a lot of time on deck...my favorite thing about cruising was the indoor shops, the library, the entertainment (especially karaoke and the comedy and broadway style shows) and the food of course. We did do some excursions but a couple outings were a bit sketchy (ask me about a hair braiding/machete experience in Jamaica sometime...whew!) but still worth it...I just really enjoy the ship more. Shopping in Mexico was very fun though!

I hope you enjoyed your cruise. Dev it’s true if someone in your room doesn’t drink they can get what’s called the refresher drink package while you get the deluxe drink package.

Can you please say more about your CVS test experience? We have been putting off cruise because of the anxiety of that. I have heard sometimes the results can take 3 days so what would you have done if your test didn't come back in time? I am so nervous about that!

I was on the Disney dream the same time when you were on this cruise. Friday night as we were leaving and going to the Bahamas, it was very rocky. I am not used to that and have never got sea sick, but this time I had to take bonine because my head did not feel good at all. There was some high pressure out there that was causing wind and rocky seas. Saturday was not the best either but the seas got better Sunday luckily as the dream was approaching Florida.

@@cklo8799 it’s only worth the price if you are going to drink about 7+ drinks per day. That does include soda, smoothies, and coffee though, if I remember correctly.
The small boat that was running next to your ship that you thought was a police boat was the the pilot boat. Captains are not allowed to guide their own ship in certain ports so a pilot guides the ship out and then transfers to the smaller boat. When the ship comes back the pilot boat meets the ship before coming back into port transfers a pilot to the ship and he guides the ship into port. You pay for this as part of your port charges fees. I hope this helps.

We are just finishing our Cruise on the mariner of the sea. Food was definitely not the best, breakfast was good, but evenings stay away from the windjammer, the dining hall options were not all great, but the risotto and shrimp were tasty. All in all we both lost weight, so can't complain too much from the bad food lol. The activities were not great; lots of trivia games, bingo nights and activities disguised advertisements (diamonds, watches and spa days were being pushed hard). We got the cruise cheap, so can't complain too much, but we were definitely bored a few days...
In the UK, independence was in Southampton and we went on her in 2019 prior to her renovations. At that time I had done only Emerald Princess and out the two, Independence was my fave. We are going on anthem in May, again from Southampton to Norwegian Fjords. Since Independence we did Iona, hands down independence trumped all. I can’t wait to board Anthem. I think RCI is the best line I’ve been on so far. I miss Independence
I just got off the Quantum of the Seas a couple of days ago!!! We bid on Royal Up and got the Grand Loft Suite!! It was amazing!!! Can’t wait to see the rest of your trip!
You mentioned getting your covid tests at CVS, do the cruise lines accept the home tests or do you need to go somewhere to have it done? Did you have to test during or after the cruise?

Can’t go wrong with Royal Caribbean man!! Booked for April 17 on Harmony of the Seas and I cannot wait! Plan on going later this year on another!

They run what you would pay at a chain restaurant. Years ago used to be noticeably cheaper on ship than land, but now it’s the same

Stuff a towel along the bottom of the adjoining door. It cuts the noise by nearly a half.
