Awesome video! I’ve been painting for 12 years. I’ve always used a corded dewalt or ryobi sander. In recent years the vibration is starting to bother my hands. I was thinking of getting the Festool 576070 because of the reduced vibration. But I have all Milwaukee tools and a bunch of batteries. Is the vibration reduction of the new Milwaukee really that good? And if you happened to have festool sanders do you think it’s comparable?
I really think this is a huge step up for Milwaukee for the professional cabinet-maker and furniture maker. They’re definitely having a go at that German-made high-dollar tool company! I never did like how the old model felt in the hand. That wart of a dust collection thing is such a bad idea. Yeah, it has all that filter and such, but it’s hard plastic that gets brittle. Once it cracks it’s actually worse than having just the bag. Thanks for the review, Mark. Very well done!
I agree with you, Sandy! I'm glad they introduced this upgraded sander this year. I'm planning to get the Milwaukee 20' vacuum hose once it's available and hooking it up to the debris separator.
I think the old one is excellent. I’ve used it a ton for five years now. Always outdoors so dust collection isn’t an issue for me. I wonder how reslly expensive ones like the 3M that is almost $400 is better. The M12 I got a couple years ago has been great also.
If you like the older one, then you may want to stick with it. This new one is a game changer, for my personal preference. I like the lower center of gravity and it's so smooth!
I was looking at getting the M18™ Random Orbit Sander (2648-20) as currently it is on sale, would I be happy with it or would I regret not getting the M18 FUEL™ 5" Random Orbital Sander (2837-20). It is a 150 dollars difference in price.
Great question! This new 2837-20 is definitely worth spending the extra money to get. It's so smooth and comfortable to use! It also has the Vaclink bluetooth technology built in, in case you ever get a compatible vacuum.
@@ericmann1781 yes. A low profile tabless battery would be amazing in the m18 lineup. For any of the handheld tools, the big batteries just make the tools unbalanced
Why are all the new random orbital sanders from Milwaukee M12 instead of M18? The 6"'s are M12 but the 5"'s are M18. You would figure it would be the other way around. Doesnt make sense to me. Would you have any idea as to why?
To the best of my knowledge, the M12 sanders are for auto body sanding. The M18s are for woodworking. Maybe auto body sanding is less demanding for the batteries.
Hey Jeremy! I'm hoping there will be a tool announcement, but I probably have other things to feature on the live stream. Tuesday might be the best day for that. Are you around?
I just bought a fake kislux and I love the fact that I didn't have to spend 3-4k on it. Yes, it's beautiful, but it's just a bag and no one cares if it's real or fake. I have a lot of real stuff that no one cares about.
Most people would think that your kislux bags are authentic because most people don't notice the difference! My husband bought me a LV for my birthday for $5000 and my friend bought a knockoff for about $60 and it looks exactly the same? I seriously can't believe it! It's amazing how some of these bags look exactly like real authentic designer bags! Cheers
There is no point in being selectively angry. So you donât believe in buying fake bags, a purchase is a purchase, regardless of the intention. I personally think it's crazy to care too much about how people want to spend their money. I bought real coach, marc jacobs, and mcm. If it's more than 1500, I'll buy a replica kislux . Guess what else I have in the bank, I'm a homeowner and drive a Lexus. I saw someone on RUclips who had tons of luxury items, lived in their mom's house, and was broke

When I started collecting handbags, my goal was to have a luxury handbag collection of 50. Over the years, Iâve been amazed at how much the kislux has changed my perspective on how many bags I really need, and Iâve been pleasantly surprised with every bag Iâve purchased.
give it a few months. new better model will be out. Milwaukees MO. someone has to pay for all those engineers standing around. sounds like your being paid by Milwaukee.....
Nice video! I been waiting for a comparison video from you. Glad the details and features were cleared up👍
Thank you! Milwaukee did a great job on this one!

As a cabinet maker myself I completely agree with your review of the older model. I’ve been waiting for them to improve it

Just get the old version
I would definitely buy that sander. And I think they should work on a 6" model m18 I know they have it in m12
That would be cool to see!
The high output 3.0 battery is the way to go on both the old and new sanders. Better balance
Good point! It's a nice balance of power and size.
I'm hoping they finally release a 4ah with their tabless cells since they wouldn't have heating issues with high amp draws.

Does this new orbital sander have all the features you're looking for?
i was using the bosch the other day and I noticed that even with a 4 ah battery the thing was tilting. Wonder if the Milwaukee has that issue
It didn't tilt with the XC 5.0, but it started to tilt with the 6Ah Forge.
can you change to a 6" backing pad?
Not that I know of.

Hey 👋 Mark Thomas is there livestream on tool announcements next week

@ I am
Nice! I'll do my best to make it happen this time. It's been a busy season for me.
Hey 👋 Mark Thomas when’s livestream coming
I'm planning on this Thursday night.
Would be nice if it were a 6".
I'm hearing that from other too.
just wait new model to come in 3 months. they want you to buy this one first
Should have thrown a 12 on it to see because I know if I buy that sander it’s defiantly going to be used with a 12
You sure say right here a lot
Haha, good to know. There are other words I try to avoid repeating, but now I know. Thanks!

Dude is that a knockoff 3ah? Grrrr
No, it's one of my older ones from around 2017. I would never use a knockoff. Not worth it.

It doesn't look like a 100 bucks worth of upgrades honestly ...
I know what you mean, $100 is a big difference, but I'll always grab this sander before any other one. The smoothness is amazing!
