    “Probably Gary will be the only one left standing” that’s crazy to hear Billy say that. Last original member gone. What a sad story. Never stops being sad. Incredible. Unbelievably talented band. Allen doesn’t get nearly enough credit for how talented of a guitar player he actually was.

    The most loyal and dedicated fans of any entertainers. We don't "like" Skynyrd or even just love them. They are part of your life when you get ready to listen to music and you start off with Lynyrd Skynyrd that's as far as you get because once you start you just can't turn it off because there's just so many outstanding tunes to listen to or watch some of the live concerts. I am deeply saddened with the parting of the last original member of one of my favorite music bands EVER. My mother played Classical music to me in the womb back in ‘61. I like and appreciate the genius that is “Classical Music”, but my dear mother was saddened that it wasn’t my favorite. But the term Classic did make an impression………..Lynyrd Skynyrd is the “Classic” and the standard of Southern Rock. I saw this great band in ‘77 and swore I wouldn’t see them ever again. Now that’s true. Every time I play a tune I will be hearing a jam in Heaven. Lynyrd Skynyrd is “free as a Bird now”. Rock on to all my fellow Skynyrd fan brothers and sisters. To my friends who have passed and loved Skynyrd too, let me know how the concert was……………………..yeeeeehawwwwww!

      Gene Odom said right before the plane crash that Ronnie was going to fire Gary. That’s the first time I’ve ever heard that and find it hard to believe. Gene Odom seems to have an agenda for Gary for some reason. Maybe he was jealous of RVZ’s relationship with Gary. He certainly trashes him every chance he gets. Gary seemed like the nicest guy and was certainly a fantastic guitar player. Maybe now that Gary has joined the band up there, Gene will stop making money off of the Lynyrd Skynyrd name.

    • @pewsterbaby
      @pewsterbaby 6 месяцев назад

      @@jaygreen1313that would not have been in the band's best interest since Rossington was the heartthrob. No way Ronnie removes that. He knew how valuable Gary was.

    • @jaygreen1313
      @jaygreen1313 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@pewsterbaby My thoughts exactly. Gene Odom originally wouldn’t say who he says he was told by Ronnie that he was going to fire someone. Now that Gary is gone, he comes out with this. He even dumps on Gary’s solo albums, pretty much saying they are crap. I’ve been a Skynyrd fan since “Pronounced” was first released and believe they would not have been Skynyrd without Ronnie’s lifelong friend , Gary Rossington. Now that they are all together up there, maybe Gene should respect them all and let them R.I.P.

    Saw this incredible band twice. First time in San Francisco way back when they first started. The Grateful Dead was supposed to play, but they cancelled and Skynyrd took the stage. What a treat! Second time was in Chico Cal., I believe in 1975 or 1976. We were right up front when my friend ended up passing out due to some heavy drinking and the band staff came out grabbed him and took him in the back room. When the show was over a friend and myself went in the back to get our buddy to drive him home. Met some of the guys in the band, but to this day I forget who they were except do remember seeing Ronnie Van Zandt. I was only 18 and intimidated by everything that was happening. What a band! They were the best!

      Try growing Little Gem lettuce. You won`t regret it. Order a 24 watt growlight, power strip with timer built in, a bag of indoor potting soil, and a simple self-watering pot. Or you can do it the very easy way by getting a tabletop hydro garden that does everything. No farm or garden needed. Try basil and buttercrunch lettuce too, bok choy, or arugula. Success is guaranteed!

    I saw old Skynyrd in Jackson, WY a number of years back, front row of course.
    I wore my black hat with my big rhinestone Jesus pin on it, I am pretty sure Gary gave me a smile.
    I stood right in front of Ricky and at the end of the concert he threw picks to the crowd.
    I reached out my hand in front of the chicks hand next to me and caught 2 picks at once, I gave her one and still have one.

Do you think you could handle constant questions about a plane crash that badly hurt you & your friends and some of them died? Gary was the last of the classic lineup for a reason. He showed grace answering those questions day in & day out! He was also an excellent, truthful storyteller! His work here is done, it’s up to us fans to keep the memories of Lynyrd Skynyrd alive now! Yessir the music lives on,my 9 year old daughter loses her shit when she hears sweet home Alabama!!!It was wild to my parents that I loved Skynard because it was “their” music…then it became my music and now it’s my daughters music…that then makes me think that it’s been “our” music all along!!!I think Ronnie and every member of the band would get a kick out of my daughter singing their songs word for word and just losing herself in their music!!!

    Thanks so much, this helps convince me more that we need to ask Gary to come to Flint to talk with the people at 101.5 here and myself to fulfill the potential of Gary's knowledge, and help him with medical problems that could be caused by tetanus unknowingly, I recommend he gets the Tetanus Immune Globulin HyperTET as precaution and see if it helps his heart condition.

      I felt this may happen, hope his wife is doing well.
      Anyone with severe medical problems have nothing to lose and much could be gained with tetanus boosters often if it helps reduce health problems that could be associated with tetanus toxin at low level undiagnosed.

    Saw Skynyrd in Dallas in the 90s at the outdoor arena where Phil Anselmo of Pantera overdosed. I believe it was called Starplex then. A guy put something in my cup of beer while Tesla was playing. He said to me, "Do you believe in God?" before he fell over so I think he tried to kill me. Luckily I spilled most of the cup of beer or I would have overdosed to death point levels. I`m not sure what it was. Felt like quaalude or liquid methadone. My last memory was seeing Billy Powell dressed in white and a big white piano before I went down. I had to be carried out.

      @@visfar101 thank you for the reply helping.
      Artimus said something between the words "I" and "agree", either the word "just" or the prefix "dis".
      I'm not sure which it is.
      BTW, I've seen comments referring to Gary as last surviving Lynyrd Skynyrd member, and articles online saying Artimus Pyle death is false rumor, then found Artimus Pyle shows that started Feb 2 2023 and concert website asking for pictures for their gallery, so if pictures are posted and shows are happening Artimus must still be surviving yet.

    I’m still wondering why Billy said back then that Gary Will probably be the last one standing…maybe he meant he was the toughest most determined one? It’s pretty interesting that he said that cause many fell before Gary did. I love BP but he never come across as a guy who would have that insight. Perhaps it was purely a joke. But, in the context of the interview, I’m not sure why he said that. Good interview.
