Made these this morning. Super easy and they fried up perfectly done in the middle and throughout. I used a lemon juice/vanilla glaze and it was perfect. Hubby loved them. First time fritter maker - thank you for the delicious recipe!
I’m here because after buying a package of apple fritters from Sam’s Club that had absolutely NO apple chunks (yes, I tore them apart looking for some after realizing it), I decided I’m going to have to make them myself. I subscribed because I, too, like the way you get right to it. I’m excited to spend all day watching your other videos. LOL
I live in Vegas and recently visiting my sister and family in Texas and had Apple Fritters from a couple different places and hark no apples and yet they thought they were great?? You gotta have apples bottom line
Do you have a recipe for those crullers?? Been looking for both recipes for a while. I wanted the closest thing to donut shop fritters and crullers, which are both my favorites. Can't wait to try this recipe. Yum!!
Hi John, I just discovered your channel tonight. I really like how you explain about the ingredients, you don’t hurry along, which makes it easy to follow, at least for me. Being that your mother is from Mexico, I’m sure she has taught you how to cook delicious recipes. My mother was from Mexico too, and she was a wonderful cook, she had soo much passion for cooking. I use to ask her why her food was always soo flavorful and delicious? She said because she cooked with love. Thank you for sharing your love for cooking, it shows, and I can’t wait to make these. Cheers!
I love preppy kitchen because he’s the perfect mix between gourmet, and home food. He asked everything very quality and attention to detail but puts those loving touches on the recipes :)
My kids and I have really been missing our Sunday trips to the donut shop before or after church. And this recipe was so simple and delicious. I didn’t have nutmeg, but I had cinnamon, and I only had one apple, but we make due with what we have. Still came out fluffy and delicious!!
I just discovered your videos the other day!!!! I can't wait to try your macarons and apple fritters!!! My husband loves apple fritters!!!! Thank you for making recipes easy!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
I made this recipe for breakfast today and they taste amazing! I do not have a Dutch oven pot, so I used a frying pan. My fritters did not turn out round and plump like his, but were still extremely tasty. I did not use water in my glaze. Instead I used milk, vanilla, and lemon juice. The added vanilla gave it that extra something that made these so much better 🥰.
Perfect opportunity to indulge in all things apple, as it's apple season on the east coast. Welcome to the Northeast John & family! Love the simplicity of this recipe, I look forward to trying it on weekends.
I have watched almost every single one of your videos and u really inspire me to start a new hobby, baking!! I finally got my self a stand mixer and a baking kit with a bunch differnt tools Iam so exited!!!
Omg i have everything for this recipe.. 100 having these fritters this weekend!! .. And fritter is the first thing i order at a donut shot.. But then of course followed by a buttermilk bar 😊
I have made these twice now and both times they were amazing! Actually everything I’ve ever made from preppy kitchen has been just delicious. This time I was out of lemons so instead of the lemon juice I used a little bit of apple cider vinegar. Un flipping believable. So good! Also, this recipe is pretty darn easy. Comes together really quick. Great weekend brunch item to make. Thank you!!
Tried making these today, and they were so delicious! Definitely will be making more! Love the easy to follow recipes and tips; so detailed. I really enjoy watching Preppy Kitchen! Thank you for sharing! ❤
I have never made apple fritters but you can bet I'll be making some now! (I have also been craving my Mom's homemade doughnuts which I'll be making once I get the fat hot! I am pretty sure you'd love them!!!) Thanks John. I cannot wait to see your amazing new kitchen. Eeeek, you must be SO excited about it?
Fantastic! Love the ease of this recipe, and I gorged on several and could not stop eating. Also tried your Christmas Tree cupcakes with the ice cream cones which were a huge hit over the holidays.
Thanks John! I like how in your recipe you have more Apple than better. When you go to a coffee shop and you order as you know they dip it in the sugar glaze as well there's too much sugar in the batter and is way more better than there is Apple. Sometimes there's hardly any Apple. I can't have gluten very often so yeah maybe every now and then would be nice but I think this recipe I could definitely do and I'll just treat the sugar that works for me. I always yep on your videos I always like the bite in the end I like to see your expression we eat and I'm going up that recipe is for us! My husband watches you too. Now he knows where I get the recipes from okay thanks so much you take care XX
I love your show, you have an awesome way that I can understand your directions, thank you, and it was so entertaining when you were out with your trees discussing the different kinds.
I” m from Wyoming, my parents from Wisconsin and Illinois/Florida. I wondered if you were talking about “crullers” which is the only pronunciation I ever heard! I hope this recipe at my brother’s in Denver.
Definitely pronounced crawl er !!! Thank you so much for your recipes. You are so precise and pretty ocd when it comes to presentation which I totally appreciate!
I also love fresh ground nutmeg. One of the reasons it is better (beyond the freshness aspect) is that the outer shell of the nutmeg "nut" is actually the spice mace and the inner part is the actual nutmeg. Double spice from your nutmeg nut for a fantastic flavor! :)
Love your channel! Made these yesterday using honeycrisps...delicious! Half with cinnamon sugar and half glazed. I'll always go for glazed but my family prefers the cinnamon sugar. I reside in the CRUEL-LER Camp...
I also love my fritters a little well done with crispy edges. Glad you brought that up for thos who haven´t eaten that way. Love your videos adn recipes.
When I was little my Dad used to make apple or corn fritters for me as a special treat. Fond memory. Now that I'm reflecting on those days in the kitchen, I can actually smell the faint aroma of the fresh fritters. Yeast doughnuts were Mom's specialty.
I just made these and they were flawless and delicious! I always change up recipes tweaking this and that, but this recipe is perfect as is! My only advice for a novice is to not make them too big, spread it out because a couple of mine turned out looking like Chinese chicken balls and it took a while to cook the centre. Give it at least 2-3 minutes per side to make sure the inside gets perfectly cooked with oil that’s not too hot as to burn the outside.
I am from the East Coast and we call them “craw-lers” when I was a kid I thought they called them that because they crawl out of your plate haha jk. But in all seriousness I think you are an Apple expert! I loved all your Apple recipes so far Apple Pie has been my favorite but I will surely give these a try!! Love your channel your personality just brightens my day!! 🙏🏼❤️
We say it crawl-er down in new haven 😂 So glad I found you! I have been binge watching all your videos the past week!! I can’t wait to try one of your recipes ❤️
Parece tão gostoso,né..! E eles são… bem gostoso… e fácil..! Se você queria a receita, eu pode traduzir para você..! Só diga..! Bom dia..! Bjs.. e abraços..!
I like how he doesn't just fritter around but gets right to the core of the recipe!
That's what makes the videos so apeeling
You guys with your food puns! Love it 😍
Oh god, my only weakness, DAD PUNS!
Groan...You are so "punny!"
Ohhhh ohhhh. You are punning things good today!
Made these this morning. Super easy and they fried up perfectly done in the middle and throughout. I used a lemon juice/vanilla glaze and it was perfect. Hubby loved them. First time fritter maker - thank you for the delicious recipe!
I'm blown away by this recipe! I can't believe how easy this was to follow and they turned out very delicious :) definitely making them again
Did you HEAR that crispy crunch when he took a bite? Loving It!
Looks amazing!
Anyone who puts their feet under your table is abundantly Blessed!

Would love to see Apple Turnover video.
Love your humour❤
And your recipes. I will try these!
Kruller/cruller rhymes with duller. In addition to the cinnamon, I love a pinch of allspice and cardamom. Your recipes are always so amazing.
French Cruller and Boston Crème w/ custard are my favorite!!
I always grace my nutmeg when adding to recipes .. it gives your baked goods that chefs kiss

You can just sprinkle granulated sugar or confectioners.

Very good! Made these for Christmas eve and decided to share some with others it's that good...thank you
You’re the best, seriously. Great job & thank you
Blotting fried foods on a paper towel makes them healthy. You betcha😉

I’m from Connecticut and here we call it a “cru-ler”. “U”, like underpants. Didn’t know it was a “crue-ler” on the left coast. Love your videos.
BumDog2112 same in Mass!
BumDog2112 same in CA & NJ: we say "cruh-ler" ('U' as in under).

We say “crew-ler” in Canada. At least here in Ontario
Alberta too.
Saskatchewan too.
Just across the boarder, we say, “krul-ler”.
I dont. Lol
It was a krul-ler in both NJ and MI.
Just made these and everyone loved them! Thanks for sharing.

Yup! I'm from Connecticut as well.
Virginia 2
It was so funny when you were saying cruller... I was thinking "that's a funny way to say "crul- ler" ~ Jersey Girl
I liked that he used three different kinds of apples. Looks delicious!
I used to be the one who stopped once or maybe twice a week for a warm, soft and delicious apple fritter! Thanks for the recipe
I also say it like [Crooler], never heard it called a [Cruller]. I found your channel not too long ago, and I am glad i did. I am hooked now. xD.
Just made some apple fritters of my own! As they say, your first try isn’t your last 😅 (I had some pretty sour apples 😬)
