The bus starts fro Kullu and goes to Kaza. It crosses Chatru in morning . It’s a state transport bus. Timing you may confirm from Manali bus stop or online at HPTDC site. Get down at Batal and walk on the motorway all the way till lake.

Udit, You will get stay and food options only in Chika and Chatru during Hampta pass trek. Stay and food is easily available in Chandaratal route. You will need own camp at Balu Ka Ghera and Shea Goru. For Chika to Balu Ghera hike, you can pack paratha from dhaba for lunch and dinner after a heavy breakfast from Chika. For pass crossing day (Balu Ka Ghera to Shea Goru), it is better to have own packed food whatever is suitable to you. As per me, Shea Goru can be skipped the day you cross the pass and walk all the way to Chatru. As per me it is easily doable if you are fit. Not a tough option but moderate as per me. There is a bridge to cross the river just 1 km before the Shea Goru campsite (near the camp of the scientists who study the glacier). Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else. Actualy i did not hear that due to raging river... I heard on the same on video.. The water was too cold for any other senses to work..

Officially yea from forest office in Manali. Unofficial is no as there is no checkpost.

The trail is well marked. We also had offline maps on our phone.
What is the total cost of the trip with equipments
Approximately ₹17000 per head for us. Includes travel cost and all items. We did not have tent as you have seen in video.
