    Also a suggestion.. You can buy the slatkin home fragrance oils to add to your melted wax once they become diluted in the smell category. Usually 5-6 drops will liven them back up.

    I had started worrying about that too when I noticed how black our air filters were getting. so I have started melting my candles as well. I just need a larger size warmer.

    Thank you. I got my candle crock last night in mail hooked up and put a 1/2 used candle in it and when I got up this morning I could smell real good. A lot better than if lit. You brought my love of candles back. I got the faith family friends one and love it. Got it from boscove

    I love warming my candles because the fragrance last so long and it's safer than burning them and you save money as oppose to keep buying wax melts that only last 2 days max. Thank you for nice video and God bless!

    Totally agree with you on the soot issues. I keep wicks trimmed and thought I was avoiding the soot until I done some deep cleaning and found it on lots of stuff, also the furnace filter. I'm only melting now, I'm using the lantern version. I may pick up one of those crocks too. Thanks for showing it, love that color!

      +Relax with wax The lantern style intrigues me too, but I think I like the idea of the bottom up heating better :)

    Very informative! I prefer the safety of a plate vs an open flame. Also seemed as I get more bang for my buck warming candles than burning them. You answered my question about them losing their scent and reusing the votive glass. I have just a cheap plastic one and use Glade candles on it.
    You should get yourself a smart plug, that way you can turn it on or off even when your not home.

    Thanks, Melanie! I just ordered the teal crock. I got a lantern version last week. Will definitely be melting more as well for health reasons. I can't imagine the smoke and soot is good for your lungs.

    Thanks, Melanie! I have been leaning a bit to the melting candle idea. I have used a plate for "end of life stage" candles, but have been toying around with the idea of a crock to cut down on soot. This was very helpful, and I'm going to check out the crock you linked.

    I've seen that candle crock on Amazon and never knew it was that big! O_O
    Love the color you chose! That would probably be my pick too.
    I bought one of the other candle warmers that has the lamp on top. Found one at a thrift store and bought another at Hobby lobby when it was 50% off! I use it on my Yankees since they take so long to pool out. YC's chocolate layer cake + the warmer. OMG!!! Delicious as Stella would say. lol

    So, I feel so silly, but it never occurred to me to take the tart dish off the warmer. I always put the candle in the tart dish and it doesn't fit or melt all the wax. Duh! Also, I was SO happy to hear that you get more time/use my using the warmer vs burning the candle. I hadn't seen a candle crock until your other video today. I had a Tyler Candle Co. crock years ago and it broke. I'm looking on Amazon and can't seem to find the larger crock pot style but I'll keep searching. I'm so inspired! LOL

    Thank you for showing! I want to get one to melt my Yankee candles because I am sick of burning them and no scent while burning them. Hopefully I can get some scent from them by melting them. I think the only thing they are good for now is to put soot in the house!!

    • @MrKongsMom
      @MrKongsMom  8 лет назад

      +Prettypolkadots I have been hearing rumblings that this years pours are better on the yankee's. I just have such a hard time believing that. They have been bad for a few years now and I had to return so many. The associates at my store hated me every time I walked in. I always got the stink eye about returning. Like they didn't believe me that I couldn't smell the candles lol. I may try one or two just to see if things have changed. Maybe if there is a bogo coming up. I am curious for sure!

    Hey watching 8n 2020, if I want to use leftover wax in a wax melter I boil water in a cup in the microwave and pour it in the candle jar with the wax in there. Wait for a while the wax will melt and come to the top if the water line. When it cools you have a perfect disc of wax.

      +booscar130 Nope, you can totally do a brand new candle if you want. But they obviously take much longer to melt totally. I will often times but them in when they are half burned or so.

    Is it safe to put those glass jar candles on the warmer plate even though there is a paper label glued onto the bottom of it? • @MrKongsMom
      @MrKongsMom  8 лет назад +1

      +boots-n-bling4me I find that the scent is pretty consistent for about 3-4 days straight. Then it starts to peter of just a bit the following days. But it's still noticeable. I still get more use than if I were to burn them :)

    So after 2 days of the candle being in the crock, all the scent is gone? Or if I let it harden and put it in another day will it continue to throw?

    • @MrKongsMom
      @MrKongsMom  8 лет назад

      +eminemluver19 Once the scent is gone, its gone. Even if it hardens up the fragrance oils have all be used so it will just faintly smell of the fragrance but can also just smell waxy.

    hi melanie... i was looking at reviews for a different candle crock on amazon and someone commented that her candles would often splatter in the crock, so to prevent this she would dig little hole in the candle ...? have you ever had this experience?

      +bitsoflovely I'm not sure how that would even happen. I am stumped lol. Nothing has ever splattered in any kind of way lol

    How long do your melt last in a warmer

      It depends on how much is left in the candle when I put it in. A half full candle, several days leaving it on 24 hours a day. A full candle, usually a week.

    Hi Melanie! New subscriber here. Would a large Yankee jar fit on that plate? They boast such a long life but I hate dealing w the wick and lighting + trimming such a deep candle. I’m tempted to get some BBW three wicks today but I still think they aren’t worth even $8 given their inconsistencies and short scent life. Btw I’ve always been a candle fanatic and lived around the corner from Illume’s LA store for years before they closed and moved. I love their Boulangerie collection sold at Anthropologie and they last way longer than BBW with a smaller footprint. I highly recommend them when they are 30 percent off. I’m considering reviewing them since they don’t get much love!

      A yankee would fit on the plate :) A great way to use those pesky yankee's up. I have not purchased any in so long!

      MrKongsMom Cool. Lmk how it goes! I want a plate like the first one that can be used for candles or melts. I just got back from a BBW haul but want to use them w a warmer plate. Hoping to find one locally that is safe and affordable!
