You forgot the heads
You're right!
So on the snare I use the Evans Genera HDD. I've tested out various different ones over the years (and still do) but I always come back and stick to the HDD.
For the toms I use the Evans EC2S. I find them to control the tone the best and they last a long time without losing too much of their sound (still changing all heads before recording an album as a session job for example, or at least after 4-5 months)
Kick heads are the cheapest I could find by Remo and all reso heads of my kit are still the stock heads lol
Maybe I should invest in new reso heads 🤔
@@Lykanthrop i have the normal version of the superstars and I love them. I changed the reso heads after about 6 to 7 years of usage and it was worth the money.

Wait... you break down the drums for EVERY song you cover? Just to set up the smaller guitar rig?
Your room seems large enough that you could leave the kit in place to record the additional instruments. OK, maybe it's not as aesthetically pleasing (which I understand on a production level), but I think many of us fans would agree that we would rather you spend the time working on other songs or your other content offerings instead.
That's at least a few hours of turnaround every time, and it's not like the guitar sound will be negatively impacted since you're miking it right at the head, correct?

With my studio set up as it is right now, it takes about 15min to disassemble the drums and another 15min to put them back together again. So 30min of setup time so that I can record the guitars, bass and vocals for example.
This has nothing to do with the actual audio recording process of the guitars, because all that is already set up and ready to go. The only reason I take apart the drums is so that I have that space for the cameras to set up. If I would leave the drums as they are, there would be only cymbals, toms and rack-hardware in the picture instead of guitars and bass.
The whole process of learning a song, practicing it, coming up with a video idea (new camera angles, different look, lighting, maybe new effects or whatever to make it more interesting and entertaining), then recording all instruments (also on video, plus doing multiple takes to have more camera angles of every instrument), editing the full music video, editing the drums only video, making the guitar/bass video lesson for patreon, maybe an additional behind the scenes video, making a few reels of the video to promote it on Instagram..... That takes me weeks or sometimes months.
So saving 30min in exchange for considerably worse visuals, is not really an option.
I already started this "six minute sunday" series specifically for that reason, so that there's more content in between these music videos. They take such a long time and I can always "squeeze in" a quick 6ms video every now and then, since it won't interrupt my working on the learning and practicing times. Plus it's fun to me and that's what it's also about... I don't want this to one day turn into an obligation to keep producing content like a machine.
Every video for me needs to have some motivation that comes from within myself. Weather it's a song that I really really want to give it my own interpretation (which is most of the times the case) or I have a creative idea of some filmmaking techniques or whatever that I want to try out in one of my videos (like cloning myself, slow motion songs, complicated lighting techniques or specific editing or color grading tricks...)

I just assumed it took you longer to move the kit around, but then again, as you mention, the rack system really makes that quick and easy. I was just factoring in all of the cabling as well, but no doubt you have a system for managing that too (probably attached to the rack or by using a snake).
Indeed 30 minutes is nothing considering all the benefits of clearing out the room, especially with the description of your "method of operation". And of course I didn't consider how important the other creative elements were to you.
LOL, I really need to spend more time watching your videos... I probably would understand those things better.
