My favorites in order are: Fatwood/Pine Pitch, Birch Bark, Cedar Bark, Tulip Poplar Bark, and Feathersticks/Grass/Anything fine or fluffy. I carry man made tinder like Wetfire, Fat Rope Stick, Mini Inferno, and Trioxane in my Fire Kit, but I always try to use natural materials from the environment when starting a fire. I also have a small tinder bag I carry to collect natural tinder sources. Great informative video.
I live in Northwest Indiana, so I have the exact same resources. Great video. I encourage everyone to go out and scout around for the natural fire starters in their area.
Ben great information in this video. Ben your videos are like Clint Eastwood movies, always good and entertaining to watch. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Take care and God Bless.
Could you please point me to that specific Hidden Woodsman sack that you keep your tender in? Can’t see it on their site. Also any specific recommendations on a lighter? Thx

Excellent video
Thanks for watching.
i'm sitting here watching your video and here the r2 d2 ring tone. I had to do a double take because i have star wars attack of the clones on TV. lol
LOL
Another Slamming vid as always BEN.
Good tips Ben
Nice video. I would like to know what you would use to get a fire going in high wind and heavy rain. Thank you.
Same thing. Just find a dry spot sheltered from the wind to place your fire.
I wish I had Birch tree in my neck of the woods. Is that a Fiddleback Forge knife?
Need to send me a pile of that birch bark
What I learned from this video. Carry a lighter, because a fire steel as a primary ignition source is less than ideal.
Haha yeah
Unless you're in a high wind situation.
Good stuff! That knife though! 🤘🏼what is it?
Hidden woodsmen special edition.
Thanks for sharing , God bless !

He may not make them anymore. You could contact him and see if he could do a one off.
Ohhhh R2
Ben , what do you think is the better procamptek product - fast-fire , wax-wood or fat-rope ? :)
Man, honestly they are all good. If I had to choose one I’d go fast fire.
Was the video made on Tatooine?
Haha, yup.
谢谢,很有意思
Yeah man its a bummer there's no good birch bark down here in Ohio.
That fixed blade is dope AF
