This is the Phantasm Comics warehouse dollar bin location 6 River Road Point Pleasant PA with over 60 dollar bins available at the moment...open Sat/Sun 10AM-3PM
Seeing that X-Men 2099 brought back a lot of memories. That was the first "new and out there" series I started to pick up when I was a kid. Barely had enough in the allowance for it, but it was cool/uncharted territory for me with the 2099 crew.
Great stuff! My LCS would've looked all those up online and marked them up accordingly as his $1 bins are now "half off" bins because he can't take the time to go through them and keep up with the times. And then I would've said no thank you and walked out lol.
It's the comic shop owners job to price books!! That literally what we do, I will never re-price stuff at the register. I think thats bad practices, I did go through all those boxes once but can't catch everything...I shouldn't charge people up if you take the time to find it. That's my personal take on the whole price at the register thing.
Wish I could find a place that has $1 bins of older stock. Every shop I stop in SNJ is mostly very moderns as their bin stuff and they're still not 1$! Good work my friend!
Thats the spirit James! There are always treasure out there!! The vintage Dell and Gold Keys are great $1 bin ones. Plus the vintage Fantastic Four Annual is a great $1 one!
Nice dollar-bin finds! I feel like dollar-bin gems are much harder to find now, especially after last year’s market boom. But personal best was the whole NYX run, including issue 3, but that was years ago.
Good though the DCs and Marvels are in this lot James, it's the Dells and Gold Keys that really do it for me, especially seeing several Twilight Zone issues one after the other and that wonderful hoard of Duck comics. Same with the painted cover issues of Turok and Tarzan. Great work hunting these down.
Great pickups. I love finding old cover less books. Picked up ASM 12 cover less in a dollar book once. Not sure what it's worth but feels good to have something that old in my Spidey PC
Love those old Twilight Zone comics. Being a Wolverine fanboy, I couldn't understand how that was your second best book. Then I saw Peter Porker. I completely understand now. Great deal there, James!
I will defnitely have to pay more attention next time I am somewhere with $1 bins. I used to think there would not be anything good in them. I have got some keys and really nice books online for under a dollar several times though.
Nice pick ups, like the Avengers and She Hulk books and especially the Truth #1 after the recent D23 announcement. The only shop that I can find with Dollar books is from an outlet warehouse store 20-30 minutes away. The neighborhood is pretty bustling, so non-metered parking is hard to come by. The biggest key I was able to find at their dollar bins was a crisp, except for one spine crease, copy of Youngblood 2 pink logo variant.
Back in the late '70s we used to go to our local Cinema and we could watch 15 cartoons and a Tarzan movie for $75. Many a time that our parents send us to the movies for a couple hours to get rid of us. It was awesome! Lol.
You got some cool books and at a great price.I picked up another copy of first app of Kyle Rayman Green Lantern NM for $20,and a new green lantern #1 error for $9.00. It seems like it is getting harder to find key books now so if you can get them cheap, you should grab them cause first appearances are the only books that really have any value.
Such a nice haul and what I’m sure was a hell of a lot of fun whiling away a rainy day in the company of those awesome scores. The love for the Dells and Gold Keys was great to hear, such cool stuff too often goes unheralded. A comic fan’s imagination should be an ocean of all types of comics, not just a stagnant pond of a few. And finally, I’m really looking forward to discovering what the addition of all that not grading money will add to your life. 💰
Hey man love the videos . Quite new to comic books and love the idea of comic book collecting . However one question that I want to ask is how do people like you go into the dollar bin and look and shuffle through comic books and find keys . There’s so many books , how does one get better at remembering which comic books are keys and be able to shuffle through boxes like a pro. Anything I can do to become better at this ?? Would really appreciate your advice
Some nice pick ups for sure! I'm not that lucky but I did get a few $12-$15 books in my dollar digging yesterday, including Skaar Son of Hulk 1. That Truth book is going to go up again after this weekends announcement of him returning in the next Captain America.
Ummmm I think you wanted to say the Carl Bark Uncle Scrooge and Donald Duck books are absolutely fantastic reads. Most of those stories kick the ass of modern comics put out today. Especially because they are one and done comics with stories that hold the test of time. BTW a lot of the Gold Key Disney Duck books you showed are all Carl Barks reprints redone with the same cover art using different colors. If you can’t tell I love Disney books!!! Dell Four Color comics are great if you can find them in mid to higher grades.
HAVE TO AGREE THE DOLLAR BINS ARE UNDERVALUED BEST EXAMPLE WAS MARVEL TEAM UP BOOKS THE 25 OR 40 CENT BOOKS GREAT ARTWORK AND STORY. PLUS DC TITLES YOU CAN BUILD SETS LIKE THE JSA OR BRAVE AND BOLD BATMAN OR MINI SERIES LIKE SPECTRE . STILL CANT FIND THAT DANGER TRAIL 4 THE LAST OF MR. INFINTO. AND THE MASTER STORY CARL BARKS . SUPER PICKUPS TWO THUMBS UP GREAT TASTE.
Whatever dollar bin you got those from…clearly the owner was clueless or didn’t care. Not to mention that every dollar bin I’ve gone through has been picked dry…any tips here?
James,I been saving up for awhile now and trying to decide which key I should go for a Hulk#181,AMS#129,FF#49,TMNT#1,Cerebus #1 or a Detective Comics#171????????

Cap 208 has the first Arnim Zola. One of Kirby’s craziest (and awesome) creations. Killer last page

One of these days I should pick up a Turok 1. All the cool kids have one in their collection 😂
I can’t believe you find these in dollar bins. One day I’ll do the same🤣

@@Davidweedlove I meant 75 cents. LOL sorry about that
That Screaming Citadel book is a great find. It crosses Star Wars and Doctor Aphra across 8 books I think. You should really give them a read!

Some of those Dell and Gold Key books are interesting especially the painted covers and the photo covers of movies and TV shows.
I always was a Scrooge fan as a kid...great stories. Would have been all over them...just to read...
The Carl Barks version?
Hey James. Do you buy comics in bulk? i live in New Hope and have many many lon boxes loaded with comics from the 80’s up.
nice haul, where do you usually post your books for sale or do you just do local? There was one in their I was interested in.
I usually do local, but you can always message me!
I thought you can see if you flip the xforce book which card it is even if sealed. What do I know?
Just shows how much time I spent into looking at these! haha
I really need to go out and hunt for these books ahaha.

Love dollar bin comic shopping.
My fav
Alpha Flight 17 has a flashback to X-men 109 which is the first appearance of Vindicator + crossover with the X-men, I'd consider that a minor key.
i KNEW it was something! haha
Nice pick ups so where is the place that has all these dollar bin books
Phantasm comics!
I loved secret society of supervillians very underrated series of the 70s
So good
I got web of spider-man #1.😀👍

How would I buy Batman 497 and how much is approximate shipping to Massachusetts

Cool comics
Thanks!
Question, what warehouse did you go to? Is it just a regular comic warehouse or something else?
Check that tales of teen titans #42, for the military jewelers variant page… not mark jewelers,,, military diamond sellers page.
Huh - will do!

Web of Spider-Man ($20)
Noice

Avengers 162 is the 1st Jocasta.
Avengers 162 is first Jocasta
I think you need to redefine the word “key”. Amazing Spider-Man 129 is a key. Any issue of Alpha Flight is not a key.
First Jim Lee. First Lady death strike. First Puck. North Star first coming out. Some Wolverine origin firsts
It is literally a key though - it's on key collector
Why do you change the place where you show your books so much lol
I'm an agent of chaos
