In 1996 I was a deputy sheriff in Louisville Kentucky. There was a celebrity golf tournament held there each year, and I was lucky enough to be assigned as an escort for one of the scramble teams- Clint Howard, Ned Beatty, Mikey Jones, and Julie Hagerty! For two days I hung with them, drove them around, and dined with them. I cannot even begin to explain how NICE they all were! Absolute down to earth folks, and SO FRIENDLY!! It was one of the coolest moments in my law enforcement career lol.

Many of us grew up watching Clint on TV. Although it's true that he shared the big screen with a giant bear, everyone's favorite show always seemed to be the Andy Griffith Show. His portrayal of Leon is just too funny beyond words. I think many of us guys can relate to wearing a cowboy outfit back when we were kids. In a time before political correctness sucked the life out of everything we say and do each day. I hope this interview wasn't really as short as it appears to be in this clip. Clint, thanks for being a part of our lives. I still watch some of your films and TV Shows from the past.

I found this hysterical interview that Clint did online-
Actor Clint Howard, brother of director Ron Howard, said he's no longer accepting roles because of his less than leading man looks. "Let's face it, I'm not easy to look at," Howard said from his suite at the Holiday Inn in suburban Indianapolis, where he was playing the lead in Showboat at the Big Top Musical Theater. Casting directors admit Howard was offered many of his jobs because of his rather mutant looking features. Howard was offered a role in the film Mask without even auditioning. The movie focuses on the short life of a teenage boy who suffers from a skull deformity. "Enough is enough. From now on I'm only going to take quality roles, leading roles." Directors in Hollywood have routinely rejected Howard for roles, even joking he had a face that could 'sink a thousand ships.' "They can kiss my dimpled ass from now on," Howard said, revealing his brown teeth. "I can act real good." Howard has enjoyed the good fortune to work over the years, largely due to roles given to him by his brother Ron Howard. A notion Clint Howard refutes. "I didn't get those jobs because I'm his brother. Pure acting skills, that's what it was." Associate producers on several of Ron Howard's films said Clint Howard was never auditioned and nobody else was up for the roles he played. "That's complete bullshit," Howard said, his thick eyebrow wrinkling. "I've heard those rumors. Just go ahead and ask my brother. Hell, I starred in fucking Gentle Ben. Ron wasn't even shit back then. Get your facts straight."
