8th Dan Iaido Master Explains the 7 Differences Between Ataritō and Ushiro

In the video we explained between the Muso Shinden Ryu Shohatto and the ZNKR Iai Kata Mae, we received requests to explain the differences between Ataritō and Ushiro too. These two Kata seem very similar as well, but in the style that Seki Sensei teaches, they are actually quite different.
So today, Seki sensei, an 8th Dan Iaido Master with 40 years of experience in Musō Shinden Ryu, will explain the eight major differences between Muso Shinden Ryu Atarito and ZNKR Iai Kata Ushiro. If you don’t understand the differences correctly, you may be misunderstanding the purposes of each Kata and unable to perform them correctly. The Kobudo Asayama Ichiden Ryu, of which Seki Sensei is the 22nd headmaster, was one of the most popular Ryuha styles during the Edo period. In our golden age, we had over 7,000 students nationwide.
