My favorite handgun hands down
I even built one from scratch three years ago.
And for those wondering was it hard to build it, my answer would be yes; because you must understand that this is a gun that came out of an era where guns were hand fitted unlike today where you can just in a part in a gun and you’re ready to go.
You should do a military national match show. And not the stuff you could buy over the counter, but TRUE military match stuff.

But already in the Second World War, it was technically considered obsolete compared to the first SA/DA Walther PP or the later, not yet completed due to Browning's death, particularly epoch-making Hi Power
I don't think the 1911 was considered 'obsolete' in ww2. The M1 Carbine replaced it for many troops but any one expecting to get up close and personal wanted a 1911 in 45 caliber.
Over 1.7 million were made in ww2 and the pistol was still in service until 1989 and 45 acp is still used today for some teams in the military. source wiki.
BTW, the m1 carbine is much nicer to shoot and more accurate than the 1911 at 50 and 100 yds.
So Colt really made a Springfield EMP 100 years before Springfield Armory…
