So let's just open up the container of super radioactive stuff right here on the coffee table! God I love the innocence of these old serials.
Richard Webb used to live down the street from us when I was in High School and some years later Sid Melton was a regular customer at a service station where I was a mechanic.
Still today, I can't see a container of Ovaltine without thinking of this show -- and I must have been only 5 or 6 years old at the time!
Me tooo! And thanks for the Ovaltine. Remember the Quaker Puff cereal Shot from guns? We were living in the Bay Area, Oakland, and then San Diego.
“You got slaves here?”
Perfect little joke to show how humor changes. That line honestly probably killed at the time.
I love these old shows ty for sharing
Wow I had no idea captain midnight was an actual show and not just the name of a youtube channel
Where’s my Captain Midnight Secret Decoder ring? My Mom sent away the inner lid label of Ovaltine and .25 cents back in 1954 and I’m still waiting for it!
V. vv.
Recognise it from superman?
I finally know where the reference comes from now! Remember watching rugrats back in like 1995 and they had the secret decoder ring in it.
I walked to the parking lot of Clark Market on S. Western ave, L.A. to see Captain Midnight. He arrived in a helicopter. It must have been between 1954 & 1955.
My favorite show!
I still have my 1948 secret decoder I think it cost 25 cents and an Olveltine label.
Love this classic stuff!
This was one of my favorite theme songs when I was a kid. This one and the theme from “Last of the Mohicans”.
He was real. This really happened.
I wonder whatever happened to my Captain Midnight decoder pin
captain video swiped it
@@alvinprettyman1802 Zionist Volodymyr Zelenskyy got it
I missed the Captain Midnight shows. I was always confused when the Jet Jackson show started because you could clearly see the mouth movement did not match the words "Jet Jackson". It was years later that I found out why.
He was Jet Jackson here in Australia, something to do with ownership of the Captain Midnight name in the US. I have a memory that Jet's junior commandos all over the world could contact him through a hand-held radio made from a spoon ... a very clever device to get every kid identifying with the show, in the pre-merchandising days. Just go to the kitchen and make sure mum doesn't catch you taking the spoon . Is my memory faulty on this? I will sit down with these videos and do some research.
The owners of Ovaltine owned the Captain Midnight name. When they dropped the show and it went into syndication they had to change the name. Originally the title character was a WW1 veteran instead of Korean War veteran on the radio show.
I wonder how their hats couldn't fall into the sea with such speed, Even their hair seems to defy speed.
11:18: I have a compass just like the one that kid is looking at. It belonged to my Dad. I believe he got it as an Air Force pilot.
The one assistant (wearing the bow tie) to Capt. Midnight was also on Our Miss. Brooks.
That ascot! Always look dumber than dirt. On my first tour in Germany, we still had to wear ascots with our fatigue uniform. Hated wearing them. Our were small compared to the huge, billowing scarves like these. Ours had a band with a snap to hold it around the neck. During the day, as stubble grew, it grated on the ascot. Why anyone would use one voluntarily escapes me. Perhaps it’s a fashion statement, and they will block air from your shirt collar therefore helping flight in cold aircraft, but......

Twighlight Zone
2:39 ... before Skype and Zoom became reality.
Anyone know the name of the incidental music (and no it's not 'Ode to Ovaltine').
Do you recognise it from the superman series?
