Excellent mate, one of the only compilations I've ever seen where I agreed with almost every choice. Fury of the Furries was, and still is one of my all time classics, it was massive too, I even have it on my Win7 PC for the odd retro visit, along with Manic Miner and Kokotoni Wilf.
This is a good selection, but there are some more platformers I would love to see. After all, the platform had more than 300 games in this specific genre. Some more, in no particular order. Metal Mutant - 1991 Silmaris Magic Pockets - 1991 Bitmap Brothers Leander - 1991 Psygnosis Deliverance - 1992 21st Century Entertainment Prehistorik - 1991 Titus Interactive James Pond 2 - 1991 Millenium Interactive Lionheart - 1993 Thalion Software
How could I disagree with such a well-made video! Great title cards and great choices. PP Hammer and Giana Sisters are on my list. Ive got Shadow of the Beast 3 too, iys great.
Here's a little supplement to this list: Arabian Nights, Robocod, Lionheart, The Addams Family, Hudson Hawk, The Blues Brothers, Aladdin, Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands, Leander, Putty, The New Zealand Story, Toki, Premiere, Assassin, Titus the Fox, Flood, Harlequin, Magic Pockets, Switchblade 1 & 2, Jim Power, Myth, Prince of Persia... Damn the list is long.
auritone yo joe was my favorit ,affter Suoer frog ,shadow of the beast 1,2,3 Baby joe ,chuck rock Jim Powers ,The chaos engine , Pang ,Besides your list loads
The one I'd want to include on the list would be Harlequin. One of the first platformers to really show imaginative, huge levels with plenty of neat touches, with a fearsome difficulty.
Rodland and P.P. Hammer are definitely two of my all time favs on the Amiga, although you forgot the very best platformer to ever hit any platform; James Pond 2: Robocod. Hope to see that one in one of your next lists. :) Also I would have included Magic Pockets, Arabian Nights and Wonderboy in Monster Land (although the Amiga version is extremely slow compared to the arcade version). Thumbs up from me!
Thanks to my parents for letting me play a lot of these games when I was a kid, even though I was born in 92. To this very day our Amiga and all of it's games are working just fine :D I've been dying to know the names of a couple of games though. One game was kind of a puzzle game, where you had to choose what kind of ''state'' to be as some kind of blob in order to proceed the stage. Like liqiud, hardened, gas, water etc. And I think you had to collect gears as well.
P.P. Hammer is the best Amiga game for me, and one of the best games ever! 60 levels on just 1 disk, the atmosphere, the music, the funny jokes and gameplay and cool level design... and the little details like mice scurrying around, the spiders, the twinkling stars in the night sky, just excellent! :)

No way, i am completely agree with your choice, but i think that is impossible to please all people and/or include all other marvellous games missing in your top20! However, this classification is one of the best! Great style man! I am an Amiga fan!!!
thanks mate, I got 'thegamearchives' as a source for my old amiga games... I just remembered the game but forgot the name so I searched for it and found your video .... CHEERS!!!!
I never ever played an Amiga, i was Nintendo But i do remember it and its times. I remember buying an Amiga magazine just to check what this Amiga was about. I loved it and wished i had one...im viewing this video today for nostalgia.
I was hoping Zool 2 would be in there! Amazing music in that title as well. Of your selection, that and Fire & Ice are my favourites. Another one I remember enjoying was Alfred Chicken... gonna search for that now :)
Good list--I would have shuffled a few around though--Turrican and Ruff 'n Tumble closer to the top; you'll always get 20 different picks from 20 different individuals on a list-type thing.
Great-great collection! I would have put Turrican 3 in there instead of 2 but actually I never played any other game besides 3. I love Benefactor, Flashback, Super Frog, Yo Joe, RodLand, Soccer Kid, Ruff N Tumble. I never played Fire and Ice and I think Zool is overrated. Here are some games to add to the best games on the Amiga: Hired Guns, Another World, Goblins, Virocop, Jungle/Desert Strike, Walker, Space Crusade, Cadaver, Darkmere, Lotus Turbo 2, just to name a few :)
Seeing these games gives me anxiety. It brings back the feeling of extreme boredom that we had at this time in the 90's. We tried to pretend the Amiga was really great because we were starved for games at the time. And there were a lot of fun games like Monkey Island, Larry etc. The BEST Amiga platform shooter of all time is without a doubt Turrican. But otherwise, Amiga games were extremly static. The backgrounds was often just a static image, completly without movement. Parallax scrolling was rare. The games were always lifeless and pale looking. There are some good exceptions in this list though. When the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis was released, we still tried to defend the Amiga. But when we compared how Street Fighter looked on the Amiga compared to the other 16-bit consoles, we just couldn´t pretend anymore. Not only was the graphics extremely choppy and slow, there was only ONE button for everything. Needless to say, it was the final nail in the coffin for the Amiga 500. However, I have many fond memories of this machine, and I wish I still had it with all my old discs. For nostalgic reasons. I still order old Amiga magazines from Ebay and love to read them.
I have 4 AMIGA 500+ Computers with 83 Megabyte Hard Drive. I know the Hard Drive is a laughing matter today but remember, the AMIGA stores only 880 Kilobytes not Megabytes per 3 1/2 inch Disk. So, for AMIGA standards, 83 Megabyte HardDisk is plenty of storage. My AMIGA 500s have "DCTV by Digital Creations, which allows 24bit Video input Screen Images thats 2^24 Colours or 16,777,216 Colours using DCTV(Digital Composite Television). DCTV is Broadcast quality Colour Images with Animation Video!

I agree pretty much with most of them although you should have found room for Putty and Heimdal. The main problem is that there are some really great games on the Amiga. I am glad you included Rodland though. I really enjoyed that game.
Another great video!!! Thanks for upload!!! Wow "OSCAR" looks verry good. I should buy it. Its a pleasure to watch your clear videos!!! Greetings from Germany!!

GREAT LIST !!!! Takes me back to the best platform machine EVER !
This brings back lots of memories, wish I could rewind 20 years.
I'm very thankful that I live in times where I can relive all those memories with just a click of a button :D
Excellent video. Thanks for giving me ideas on which games to play with on the Amiga. I wish I had this computer growing up.
Pure nostalgia for me, haha. I spent many an hour on the Amiga 600 zoned into that little square screen. Many happy childhood memories. :)

Nice compilation man! This brings out the good old days when I was a little kid haha! Most of these games I've played myself. Great choice!
The graphics, the music, the fun. Such Wonderfull times with the Amiga.

I'm sure super frog is using similar sounds as wiz n Liz.
Yo! Joe and Fire & Ice are my favourites. I also enjoyed playing Addams Family even though it wasn't really the best, I will never forget the music :)
No Bubble Bobble or Rainbow Islands!? You must be kidding. I agree with Superfrog.
