I’ve been studying up on your videos the past few days and my knowledge on bass fishing has gone up tremendously thank you so much for this good content
Thanks for the video! I live 15 minutes from fork and planning on be on the water first light. It’s going to be chilly at upper 40’s but I’m planning of throwing top water (frog) I don’t catch a lot on the top water bite but the ones I get are awesome and a lot of fun. I’ll also have a rattle trap and swim jig tied on. FYI I ordered my first Kingcast and it seems to be doing ok, but I haven’t caught anything over 6 with it only a matter of time..
Great stuff Mean Gene. Great to see you out on the water and having a good time. Ill have to get back to trying the lizard and swim jigs again. See if i cant get a PB this year. God bless.
Chatterbait, swim jig and Lipless are gonna be what I’m throwing for a Saturday club tourney! I also would not rule out a buzzbait to really make em mad 🤫
@@KittyBoyLaCroix I just started a channel if you wanna follow along. Pursuit of Game Outdoors. we are learning but hopefully will get some good stuff out there!
Hey gene, lately on my lizards I’ve been using swimbait hooks. I did it because I broke off my last strait shank. I don’t know if it’s the way it falls (not nose first), or if it gets all the appendages kicking, or if it’s just in my head but I’ll tell you what… it was night and day. I didn’t go through as many from the heads ripping off the eye of the hook.
True, but he was saying that for his Swim Jig trailer after he talked about the Chatterbait. Watching that segment on the Chatterbait again, I noticed he had a boot tail swimbait on one Chatterbait and a minnow-style swimbait on the other.
I like throwing a swim jig most times of the year but, you said something very interesting to me. I use the Rage Menace as a trailer on a Bluegill colored jig BUT, I rig it like a craw and not horizontally. Your explanation, saying to keep the claws attached together (the way they come out of the package), to imitate a bluegill makes sense except for in my case. I use the Moon Juice Rage Menace trailer and, it's 2 toned. If I rig it horizontally, one side is going to be dark and the other will be light. I don't know about you but, that doesn't seem lifelike to me. I use the moon juice exclusively because, the tails closely mimic the bluegill tail. Perhaps I'm going to have to try a solid colored Rage Menace? Thoughts? Thanks.
Hey Fluke! You mentioned fluro on most of your reels, but would copolymer work as well? I just bought some to convert from mono. Hope to see you on some more Kastking live shows with Nikki!
Hey Mr. Jenson, I just got into crankbaits but for some reason mine is not sinking. It is on 15lb line on a spinner reel. How do I make it sink? It’s a square build and was wondering should I add weight? Thanks again, I have been watching you for three years.
The major point that not one fishing RUclipsr ever covers - should I be throwing a Crawfish color on a lake that does not have a single Crawfish in it??? Ex. Lake Guntersville...
People if you just a beginner this is way to much info. This is just his very specific and personal way to fish all these baits. You don’t have to get that crazy with the line, reels and rods. Just get a med heavy and a heavy rod to start. He’s way to specific with the line. Personally I go strait braid on everything no matter what. 30lb or 50lb. Never seen a difference with fluorocarbon. It’s way to expensive and a wast of money. To spongy and not feel to it. A couple reels. 7 or 8 speed is fine. If all you have is a 6 then that’s fine as well. Spinning gear is also fine. You don’t need to go spend thousands of dollars like these guys try and get you to. Just stay away from cast king stuff it’s garbage. Any of the main brands of rod and reels are pretty much all the same. If you do wanna use fluorocarbon for some reason 15 lb on everything works fine. You don’t need to go spend $200 on 12,15,18 and 20lb flouro
Fluoro makes such a difference when u consider how easy to tie the knots are and their abrasion resistant, all you need for leader is 15 and 20, you can buy cheap line like Berkley vanish(15 bucks) if it matters that much. Straight braid has its times, but you definitely shouldn’t use it for everything, especially light treble hooked baits.
@@PrivateTummy tried all that crap. Don’t like it. Like the knots better with braid. I don’t throw light treble hook baits at all so… but I throw braid on everything and alway catch fish. It’s a scam and a complete waste of time and money. Think what you want obviously but this is for beginners. I throw spinner baits and whoppers on braid as well as chatter baits. 80% of my fishing is frog fishing. If I can’t throw a frog it’s usually a jig or Texas rig. But hey to each his own. I just think people over complicate it. It’s the fishing companies just pushing a bunch of bullshit.
@@seanmyhre1305I agree with the beginner part, you don’t need all of that to catch fish, but using the leaders and such just optimizes the amount of bites you get
@@seanmyhre1305 if your throwing straight braid on a crank bait or jerk bait, I can guarantee your not getting as many bites as you could be, especially because your not getting that bait as deep as it should be

Here in Wisconsin, it’s spinners and a perch swim bait. Good luck friend
That’s a 3 punch combo right there 💪🏼
Glad to see you throwing some basslosophy to the enthusiast out there, greetings from Covington Ga.
Thanks for pointing out how you set up the SK Rage for vertical or horizontal presentations.
I wish zoom would bring back the 4 inch lizard in mossy pumpkin

All that fishing can get you tongue tied. I share the same setment sentent blah, SENTIMENT!
Around the 2:36 mark, you mention the Chatterbait. What’s your “go-to” trailer for the 3/8oz and the 1/2oz? Thanks for the video. 👍😉
Pretty sure he said a rage tail .Puts it on vertical, doesn't separate the tail imitating baitfish..Puts it flat and separates it to imitate craws.

Any tips for Eufaula Alabama for this weekend 4/6/24? Never been there before.
We've already had the spawn down here in south Louisiana... Will these baits still work for now?

Most crankbaits don't sink on their own. Reel the bait, and the bill of the crankbaits will cause it to dive.
What's up fluke!!! Miss ya buddy! Love seeing ya still pimpin that content. Hope to see ya soon!!! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
What about from the bank on Chickamauga?
Please do one of these every month if you don’t already!
Backpack in the front? That's genuis
Bout time you up loaded bed fishing my friend.

Green pumpkin
I like that Buckeye color scheme.
Don't use the Wolverine color scheme, they suck
People can fish the colors they want but from my experience red colors are overrated. Personally I think it’s a myth.
I’ve tried bunch of other colors and it wasn’t working I never even knew people actually used red colored baits maybe it’s what I’ve been missing?
