Hi! As a Chinese book lover, I really enjoyed your video. It's so fun to see familiar sights from a foreign perspective 😆. There was a bookstore I loved in Shanghai called '衡山·和集,' which had a good selection of foreign books and magazines, but sadly, it closed last year. If you’re interested in used bookstores, there are quite a few interesting second-hand shops in Shanghai, like 多抓鱼. However, it’s a fact that nowadays many of us in China tend to buy foreign language books online instead of visiting physical stores. Of course, physical bookstores still have their unique charm. If you ever come to Hangzhou (a city not far from Shanghai), there are a number of interesting bookstores here that are also worth a visit~
@@CindyGao-w6bthank you for the recommendation!! I definitely hope to visit Hangzhou soon, I'll look into the bookstores there. I've also enjoyed ordering some books here online but there is nothing that beats the atmosphere and experience of going to a physical store in my opinion. Thanks for your comment 🫶🏻
@@liziw8033 I haven't found any in Suzhou yet (though I haven't been looking too hard) but the foreign language bookstore in Shanghai carries a really good selection and in my opinion is honestly worth the trip to the city. At the end of the day you can get a lot of books from Taobao as well but the experience of actually going to a bookstore, browsing and discovering new titles is unmatched

This video is very pleasant to watch! I live in Suzhou too and actually struggle to find bookstores that sell a decent amount of English books😢
