Songs like this remember me of a happy and less complicated time. It gives such a strange nostalgic feeling. This is the song that got me into techno. Heard it at a Tower Records when I was 16. It spoke to me in a way that a song never did before, and I was hooked. Recently, when my dad heard me listening to this tune, he replied, "I thought you would outgrow this by now." Never! I'm going to be 100 and still jamming to Rhythm is a Dancer.
I miss growing up and hearing this blasting throughout the house, grew up with a single mother and one brother, we would always have dance parties in the living room when this song came on. Lots of laughter, fun, and joy in those days.

Whoever is saying they wish they were born in the 90s, I understand that, but think about this; nowadays you have every song at your fingertips and you can listen to them anytime you want without having to wait for it to come on the radio. I was born in 2004, and I'm glad I can listen to anything I like with RUclips, CDs and a lot of other music players and apps.
Maybe. There was something about going to a record store and searching for music. Yeah I know you have everything at your fingertips now and you can just sit there and go nowhere. But where's the fun in that? Microwaving isn't cooking. It's about the experience
It's not just about the music. It's about everything that came along with living in a particular era. Music simply transports the memory back to that time period. There's absolutely nothing like being a kid in the 80's and a teen in the 90's. If you weren't a part of it, you just wouldn't understand.
Aah the early days of (pre)techno. Beautiful. Back when music was real - even electronica. My friends and I use to have a Thursday night ritual called "club Dave".. it was named after me.. God knows why i deserved such recognition. it was a genius idea nonetheless and it still resonates today. In my bedroom every Thursday night wed play "rhythm is a dancer" in the dark and soon after that rumors would start and additional people would include themselves in our weekly routine. We'd hit the CBD of the clubbing district of Sydney with assorted drug use ranging from alcohol to elicit drugs every Thursday night we'd venture off into new avenues of drug use. Nowadays we still talk about how things were and wish we could revisit them. But as you get older there is sadly no return... life moves on but memories never fade! After that our clubbing/Raving years eventuated and developed. Some of us moved on and some of us remained in a transitional state..
ahhhh 1990s. mum blasting this from her 800w speakers whilst cleaning the house. birthday party that lasted from 6 at night until 3 in the afternoon the next day. I was 10. now I'm 30. wow
Takes me back to the days of the BADDEST techno club ever built! Pulsations right outside of Philly! electric tower lights that would rise out of the floor, flashing laser beams everywhere, the 7 foot live actual robot (not some actor in a suit) that roamed the dance floor, and the space huge space ship that was about 30 feet in diameter that would descend from the roof down onto the floor. Man what a club!!!
Almost 30 years ago but when I listen to this tune, for a few minutes I get that strong sensation of being back at the clubs hanging out with my buddies, chasing skirts and partying. So distant yet so vivid.
TheRubberStudiosASMR that's not pop, it's dance/techno/eurobeat/eurodance. Fuck off pop from that time where Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys etc but not this.
Bruce Wayne It's the art of the music that keeps them immortal. Their souls will always exist to reflect on other beings. This is the known fact that keeps me living. Being an artist I know I will never truly be dead.
Katie Speed This is still considered retro. This video has been on Much More Music on the retro view viewing show. This is pop, not electronica. 90's electronica is a lot different then this. This is considered "popular" music of it's time. I am just a music enthusiast, not here to insult another generation. Feel open to correcting me with some logic supporting your claim.
ShoeLaccey Mintyoreos Staecey Nope. Electronica. Or what was also grouped into "Club". This is before they had separate genres for house, drum n bass, etc. Just because it reached mass success does not mean it's pop. We support as fact, it having lived it and being generally "old and retro".

Yes those were the days.I too hit the night clubs of Sydney in the 1990`s.Such good memories.
My mom used to dance to this song when she was my age I'm now the same age doing the same thing !!👍🏼 good music actually

Almost 29. I loved dancing in my room when this song came on the radio, which was always playing when I was in my room as a kid. Ahhhh, memories.
Sabah Abdulameer jammed to this in the 90’s. Still enjoying

Meu Deus! 😍 que saudade dos embalos de sábado à noite. Que década maravilhosa. Obrigado por compartilhar isso conosco.Deus lhe Abençoe😘😘
One of the greatest, if not the best, intro to any dance track. Like people have said a total anthem...... See you on the dance floor 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
It reminds me of my youth at that time, in the 90s with my friends. What memory !

Boa nurnoch Gänsehaut, meine Kindheit, mein erster Walkman, meine erste Musikkassette.
Miss you always 90s, you will always be the age when you perfected dance music. 💜😎
Feeling down and lonely. This song makes me happy
Mariska van Vliet I’m feeling like a big man in a long long Cadillac
Sorry my cat ran over my keyboard

Mariska van Vliet hope your ok
Born in 1994, good times in the 90's with nice music
When MTV was awesome! !
Good times indeed.
Sadly time moves on and we will never get the moments back... only in our memories.
Even working the door on security I remember tunes like this at a holiday camp I used to look after. Half a lifetime away now.... 😊
So so long ago but can still get you dancing 💃
Almost 37 years is too. )
Totally agree same here. The simple fun days

Classic retro pop song. ahhhhh my child hood
Bruce Wayne It's the art of the music that keeps them immortal. Their souls will always exist to reflect on other beings. This is the known fact that keeps me living. Being an artist I know I will never truly be dead.
Bruce Wayne I like that, renovatio. Renewable energy.
Old School Electronica sweet heart... If the 90s is "retro" I'm fucking old then....
Omg... old but very good... its my time!
WOW yes my music...,,,,awesome
Nineties were the very best.
90´s > all, bring back this TIME!

É o Clubeeeeee das mulhereeeeeees!!!
Rhythm is a dancer
It's a soul's companion
You can feel it everywhere
Lift your hands and voices
Free your mind and join us
You can feel it in the air
Ooh, it's a passion
Ooh, you can feel it in the air...
Ooh, it's a passion
Ooh, ooh, ooh, oh
Rhythm is a dancer
It's a soul's companion
You can feel it everywhere
Lift your hands and voices
Free your mind and join us
You can feel it in the air
Ooh, it's a passion
Ooh, you can feel it in the air...
Ooh, it's a passion
Ooh, ooh, ooh, oh
Let the rhythm ride you, guide you
Sneak inside you, set your mind to
Move to it's pulsation, bass vibration, synth sensation
Pause, it's not in place, see
Mind and body must be free to...
Please take it all in...
Nothing to lose, everything to
Win, but it controls you
Holds you, molds you, back to older
New, touch it, taste it
Free your soul and let it face you
Got the beat what you wanna
If the groove don't get ya the rifle's gonna
I'm serious as cancer when I say: "Rhythm is a dancer"
Rhythm is a dancer
It's a soul's companion
You can feel it everywhere
Lift your hands and voices
Free your mind and join us
You can feel it in the air
Ooh, it's a passion
Ooh, you can feel it in the air...
Ooh, it's a passion
Ooh, ooh, ooh, oh

@@thetrxppiniqqa yes and also, the second last verse in the rap is "if the groove don't get ya the RHYME is gonna". I don't know why people think there's something about a rifle in this song.
Jenifer Lohan 👍🏼
first name last name Nope, he does say ‘RIFLE’S gonna’. I know someone who asked him personally years ago (I’m from Europe).
