Modern vehicles have tighter tolerances between the glass and the body. This can pose a problem when trying to remove glass with conventional wire tools, leading to damage of the pinchweld or glass itself.
The Cobra™ solves this problem with using a unique, directional suspension reel. This reel allows the technician to wire-out today's auto glass safely and effectively. By moving the Cobra's ratcheting system, the specially designed wire will cut through the toughest urethane with no resistance. Setup time takes just a few minutes; just insert the cutout wire on to the outside of the vehicle beneath the molding, place the Cobra™ Suction Cup Assembly on the inside of the glass and you will begin one of the easiest wire removals you have ever done.

Has anyone ever tried to use the cord or wire along with some type of lubricant like sika slick or something similar? I think it could work to help the cord or wire to cut with less effort. I am going to experiment with it and i'll let you know how it goes. Great video on the Cobra.. I have owned one for quite some time and at that time there wasn't a video like this available. It tought me a couple things I didn't know.. Thank you!

We have had people tell us they use a lubricant and it helps. I personally have not used it but I don't see why it wouldn't hurt! I look forward to your feedback once you've used the cutting lubricant. Unfortunately I believe the Sika Slick is only available in North America but it is important that when using anything other than water, it must be approved by your urethane company, as the wrong product will contaminate the urethane bead, which will be detrimental to the urethane adhesion when re-installing the new glass.
