      @Aelazadne 4 года назад +5

      They like a lot of people probably bought into Tony's hype. Tony's LW career has been fighting nothing but volume strikers and two decent wrestlers with his best win being RDA. Gaethje did to Tony what Michael Johnson did to Tony, literally, as it was the same combinations that were tagging. Brendan Dorman was right when he said that Tony hadn't improved in years. That is the second power puncher he lost against.
      ANd Khabib didn't back out. Russia is under quarantine and with April 18th canceled dude is rightfully observing his religious duties. Tony could have waited but as he said, he wanted to beat Gaethje and use the win to call out McGregor and bypass Khabib.

      But what I dont get is, why didn't he try to pull muay thai clinch, or any elbows at all.
      When someone goes for the power shot like Justin did, it's easy to use the step-in-elbow. Like Kattar did against Stephens previous fight.

His attitude makes him unapproachable and in fear that he might snap or flip out his corner just consoles him rather than give anything of substance whereas Justin's corner is unloading on him and giving him reality checks every time he sits in the corner.
