Nice connection between dragon and human, other that that, a massively incomplete plot. The complete absurdity of a single human telling a machine of destruction, ancient and powerful, that it was done, an anachronism, smacked of the author saying, "Gee, I'm totally out of ideas, I'll just quickly end this part". If there is a part 2 and beyond, the groundwork of the Epoch Empire, the old wars and the current one needs a great deal of fill in. Many other details need to be revealed for this story to have the legs to continue. Considering the skill level of the author, it's likely a "one and done".
I really see that my friend is always concise and detailed in his analyses, and certainly my talent shouldn't come close to that of such a teacher... however, I almost wanted to do part 2 to satisfy him, but I would like to hear something from my friend before!
