Xi'an Jiaotong University, a prestigious and influential educational institution, is a member of the official alliance of nine universities in mainland China, known as C9, which is also called China's ivy League. Promoting the development and spread of advanced learning and academic research in a variety of disciplines, the university was first established in Shanghai as Nanyang Public School in 1896. After several transitions in the selective government process to designate a set of elite public schools in 1956, the university was relocated to Xi'an. Renamed Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1959, the university has a fully integrated network of four campuses (Xingqing, Yanta, and Qujiang, China Western Science and Technology Innovation Harbor). I walked in Yanta campus today.
