Avril Lavigne was in The Netherlands for a showcase and Toazted grabbed this oppurtunity to get her in front of the camera. In this second part of the interview we asked if Avril wanted to make a political statement when she showed a soldier leaving for war in her video "When you were gone". Avril tells us the meaning of the video. She also talks about her collaboration with her husband, Deryck Whibley from Sum41 in the studio.

When I was a teenager my biological mother died and eventually my dad re-married, my stepmother was a bit too different but it's a good woman with a good heart, more mature more strict - oh my god I just realized that my biological mother didn't die and wasn't replaced she just grew up and matured xD
I wasn't really a tomboy since I wasn't into skateboarding, sports or hung out with boys. I was actually shy around them. I think I still am now, not just with boys but with anyone whenever I am in a large crowd. I wasn't into girly stuff back then like make up and skirts but now I have matured a bit

Ok. I have done some extensive research on the subject. Looked at her facial expressions and mannerisms, micro reflexes, voice variations...you name it...I went into detail. I can confirm for myself that this is really Avril Lavigne. I love a good conspiracy theory, especially when they turn out to be true. But in this case, it is only a theory and it is a false one. The pictures of 'Melissa' are actually Avril herself which are photoshopped to look more aesthetically pleasing, as they do with most magazine photos. People have used these photoshopped images in comparison with a normal picture of Avril to make them look like two different people who look almost the same, which then provides the 'evidence' of the impostor/Melissa character.
You can not hide someones death and replace them with an impostor. The notion that 'Melissa' could dupe the fans, media, friends and family unnoticed is a farce, and a pretty laughable one.
Not to mention that the writer of the conspiracy admitted that he made it all up. Apparently Avril finds the conspiracy amusing though, so it's all in good fun.

This conspiracy theory wasn't written a few years ago... since 2004 people started to talk about what happened to her, actually some said that she was like a totally different person, but the fact that she died was relatively new with this theory, but it was already said like a decade ago.

I grew up with Avril and all the rumors going around about her being dead and being replaced broke me I done some research and from experiences with Photoshop I could see how some photos were photo shopped between Avril and Melissa but I do believe there are changes in her voice but some words she speaks in this video still sound the same as she used to talk here face just looks different in certain lighting but other than that she hasn't died she is still alive.
