Dinobot: "Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly, the ill deeds along with the good and let me be judged accordingly. The rest is silence." Optimus Primal: "He lived a warrior and died a hero. Let his Spark join the Matrix with the greatest of Cybertron." To this day, Dinobot is still one of my favorite Villain turned Hero characters of all time. Scott McNeil's voice was so fitting for the character and Dinobot was one of the best written characters in Transformers Media.
Neflyte in SAILOR MOON! (He died protecting Molly from Zoisite's monsters.) Coming in the middle of the first season, it helped move the show to a deeper level...
Dinobot's always live rent-free in my head. He was so noble, even his clone who was supposed to be completely evil went out like a true warrior. But Mr. Freeze's haunts me. "Believe me...you're the only one who cares."
0:23, He went from a Badguy who wants to rule the World to a Person trying to somewhat redeem himself. I guess you can say not ALL Villians can be, well, bad, if you know what I am talking about right now.
Vilamax From Power Rangers Lost Galaxy (1999) When Trakeena lost her damn mind after fusing with Deviot In the cocoon Vilamax the honorable warrior know she was full of shit so he called her out on that crap and she Killed him for It one more thing Before you say Power Rangers Is not a cartoon I know that and I don't care
Him along with the old Ecliptor from In Space, when he sacrificed his life for Astronma, right after she remembers that she is Karone. Diabolical from Lightspeed Rescue, when Queen Benshira sacrificed him, Vypra, & Loki just to killed the Rangers. Franx from Time Force, when he Nidela understood that not every human is bad, & reminds the mad robot that there is still human in that cybernetic shell. Which brings us to both Decker & Diyu from Samurai, when they wanted to be set free from the evil they were both in, which took away their humanity.
"Beast Wars: Transformers" was the best animation ever. The friendship between Dinobot and Rattrap was truly amazing. I was very sad when Dinobot died.
The one that got me suprised recently, was Daniel Kon's sacrifice in Jurassic World: Chaos Theory. In Camp Cretaceous, we met Kenji's father in S5, who was a businessman willing to do anything in his power to make his company Mantah Corp. great, such as abusing dinosaurs, threatening humans and worst of all, manipulating his only son (I also blame him for Kenji's initial misbehavior, not to mention that he never used his monkey to save him from Isla Nublar). After being defeated by the six of Nublar and losing everything he had, we can see that Daniel Kon might reconsidered everything he has done during his time in prison, because when a deadly woman was hired to kill Kenji and his friends, Daniel Kon sacrificed himself to save his son. He wasn't a good person and he was one of the worst fathers of Universal Animation alongside Bron (Littlefoot's father), but he did love his son in his own way. It wasn't easy to watch Kenji cry and suffer during the sequel.
Wonder Man from avengers Earth mighty heroes should be on this list. He was a very tragic character that was manipulated by the masters of evil and redeemed himself by sacrificing himself to save the team during the Asgard arc at the end of the first season. Thankfully, the samurai Jack video game from a couple of years ago Retconed Ashi’s death if you happen to find 50 medallions.
Hiroshi Sato was indeed memorable, even if it happened too fast. But surprised Jet wasn't on the list. He counts since he was a villain when introduced, and helping the team find Appa was clearly an act of redemption. His last words "All be fine" was followed by Toph saying "He's lying." Which basically confirms his death.
i love a villain's good-redemption! how about "Top 10 Cartoon Characters who have Redemption"; like Rayman(from "Captain Laserhawk"), and Discord(from "MLP; Friendship is Magic")!
Spoiler: She survived if you played the recent Samurai Jack Game. Even better, Genndy confirmed that it's the real, true ending of the show. Wonder why that wasn't in the actual finale of the show?
glad the game fixed that ending as man ashi's death was a dumb kick to jack when he already dealt with enough.(or just had her disappear immediately but show what happened to all of jacks friends, allies & even different paths for some enemies in the changed future that'd change the fate of some with aku not having influence on their lives.) freeze's death really gave him/batman the animated series in general had a pretty tragic and tbh bleak fate in beyond especially how a lot of villains fates are never went into(like seeing an older harley but never older poison ivy which could've been cool seeing her age slowly/team up with inque being similar or how batman loses all his allies just turning on him.)

Dinobot was the most emotional one here, should have been first place, but that just me being a Transformers fan, one of the few death I cried at be that perfect.

That Ashi death went hard. The whole end of Samurai Jack did really.
It’s a good thing we have an alternative ending in the video game version

It's funny what a random act of kindness can do, most if not all these "villians" where just misunderstood.
Ashi's arc was incredible. Still haunts me to this day.

Now let’s do Top 10 Times ANIME Villains Died after Redemption.
Ashi deserved much better with jack❤❤❤
Good thing the Samurai Jack video game fixed that situation
Sometimes I wish I asked Stan Lee, when was alive in 2016, if villains can be redeemed.
Ashi's fate was altered if you played the game, according to the creative team.
To me, Hiroshi Sato's redemption and sacrifice will always make me teary eyes

Either you die a hero or you live long enough to become a villain.
A Few Honorable:
Morgana - Wizards Tales of Arcadia
Hazel - RWBY
For Ashi if you want closure there's an alternate ending where she and jack are at peace and she's alive
"So what's a warrior without weapons? A WARRIOR STILL!"
Dinobot being the warrior who died a hero
Lord Viren from The Dragon Prince
Gmk king ghidorah was like any incarnations of himself.

I've seen most of these, mainly the top 5 and Dinobot should have been #1 😭
Dinobot was a definite goat throughout Beast Wars. Don't care what anyone says 😢
You guys forgot Scarlemagne
Ashi in animated: passed away like in TTGL Movie
Ashi in Samurai Jack's game (latest): can survive if the conditions met (feels like Super Robot Wars)

"Redemption equals death"

Ashi's death was too rushed. From enemy, daughter figure, student to wife? Seriously
You know something is sad when it makes Hawkgirl of all people cry.
I didn't even know shadow Weaver I thought she lived and lived happily ever after with the others.
Btw you get the happy ending with the recent samurai Jack game
