Oh Carlin 🥹 you are still in my daily prayers. I cried with you talking about needing family help. I had my first long hospitalization in 2014 like 2 months and I’ve had several since then but the first one, it brings me to tears thinking of how wonderful people are and where to me and my family during that time. It was so amazing and gave me strengh I didn’t know I had left.
You're very lucky. I'm chronically ill and have no family support or friends.

I tripped across your vlogs in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep due to back pain. I'm 61 years old and if I lived near you I'd babysit for free. I'm impressed how you both as a young couple choose to live your life and raise your family. I'm so happy to see that, plus your extended family are always there to help you out. What a blessing that all of you are God fearing. It gives me hope for our nuclear families in America. I'm a disabled nurse now. My right leg was paralyzed on the job while working at a huge tertiary hospital in Washington State, I live in Idaho. Anyway, I love that you pray and are not afraid to do so on your videos. I prayed with you for Carlin and everyone during your health crisis and your times that try the soul. I'm asking for you and your circle of fellow Christians to pray for me. I've had 6 spinal surgeries to fix my back injury and I had to learn to walk again, and now something has gone wrong and I'm in a lot of pain. I'm nervous that I may face another spinal surgery which will stop my husband and I from traveling every 3 months like we like to do. We love to spend the winter's in Australia, and I don't want to give that up. But I'm a FIRM believer in the power of prayer and I know it will help me a lot. God Bless. In all of these things, you guys are such a blessing. I know that sometimes things are really difficult to manage/handle. Especially when you don't know what's happening to your body, Carlin. I'm so thankful you have family on both sides who help. I can't even tell you how wonderful that is to hear about and how it must make you guys feel. I'll say thank you to them too! I still miss the Bates on UP. :( But so glad you guys vlog. This one was kind of out of order b/c I saw you get the EEG set up the other day. Or maybe I saw it on Instagram? The trees in your neighborhood are beautiful. There are so many trees that it reminds me of back East. I’m in Los Angeles and we don’t have enough trees or flowers anymore. To many homes and apartments have taken over and Building and Planning have failed with greenery as it has been proven that green space and trees are important.

If you have to stay on the seizure meds…. I have epilepsy (onset about your age) and take the generic of Keppra extended release. I don’t have any breakthroughs, but it’s also one of the safest ones if you get pregnant again. My doctor said they don’t like to switch you once you are pregnant, so something to think about if it hasn’t been already for the future! I’m 40 and am pregnant with identical twins so have learned some things. Love to you all.

I've always said Layla looks like Carlin from the pictures they used on the show. Both kids are a good mix. Zade looks like Lawson to me.

Aw. So glad that you had help from family. You both are being so brave. My nephew and niece both had a seizure disorder, but after sleeping on a grounding mat along with their meds, neither have had an episode in over 2 years. Praying for your complete healing. God bless you both.

I'm seizure prone (31 years now) from stress. Specialist says it starts as severe anxiety. What stinks is sometimes the seizures are delayed. So I might be stressed last week and have a grand mal tomorrow. It's weird.
I hadn't had a *known* grand mal since June 2008. Next one was December 2020. :/ I have had petite mal and absent seizures. I am a hot mess!!
That is a lot going on at the same time for a young family. Health issues together with a newborn and packing up one house and renovating a 2nd house. These are the times when we look back makes you wonder how you got through it! We are all stronger than we will know and these are the times when you find out what you are made of. It is nice that you have so much familial support. I think in itself it another great benefit of large families! This just reminds me of what is truly important in life, health, family, friends.
I'm sitting watching you as I get the laundry ready for the laundry mat. My hubby and I are moving to Kentucky from Wisconsin in two weeks. So glad Carlin is doing better and having her eeg.
You're so lucky to have family that is willing and able to help out so much. When I had to go to the hospital for delivering my babies my husband couldn't be with me because he had to stay home with the other kids. It was really hard being by myself in the hospital.

I had something similar to Carlyn that happened after I had my daughter she was my first but a lot changed for me then. I started passing out just randomly eventually did some testing and their machines picked up seizures. But they weren’t sure what was causing them on top of that I also had some spots in my brain that they weren’t sure how they got there or what caused them so they were suspecting MS but I never did my lumbar puncture because eventually it started feeling better and all of it passed by Gods grace

My great niece was 2 & 1/2 when they built a new house and the first month or so she wanted to go home (the rental home) to sleep every night. She'd cry so bad but eventually she began to understand that the new house was their home now. Sending prayers for Carlin's health and future tests. Also praying for an easy transition for Layla when y'all move.

Focus on all the new memories you will make in your new home. Leaving the old house won’t take the memories away and honestly as sad as it sounds, in time Layla will probably never even remember the old house. All of the family milestones that await you is so exciting!!

Hi! I appreciate your diligence in keeping those of us who love and follow you up to date. I have a questions -With the meds they tried will they keep adjusting them to the level you need? ( I have had epilepsy for 43 yrs but its controlled with medication.) I pray yours can be also.
