In addition to being a love poem it forced us to reflect on the harsh realities around us and like most masterpieces continues to be relevant today.
Do give credit to Faiz saheb who courageously continued to write despite several long periods of incarcerations.

It is just that they have only given credit to Noor Jehan who originally sang it and inspired this new rendition.
@@arifkhan100 Unfortunately, nobody in Indian sub-continent specially in India praise the poets for their hit songs. They praise only the singers of those hit songs. If singers are so MAHAN then why all of their songs are not hit. The poetry plays an important role in a song.
