@@cantorfahlenkamp Thank you for your reply! Upon listening a bit further, that's what I assumed. It is rare to hear the Western Ashkenaz nusach these days, it seems.
Matt Marcucci. Yes, I agree. Berlin is either eastern Nussach or Lewandowski. The border for the nussech ist the Elbe river. Berlin is east. But in Fraenkufer Synagogue, Berlin, from time to time a tora reader does the shachariss. And he discovered the Frankfurt tradition (Ogutsch etc.) and sings jekkische Nussach. But, since the sound differs severely from the mainstream, the congregants refuse to or do not know how to respond to the "maschor" (major) or somewhere in between, but not ahavo rabbo or minor broches.
@@cantorfahlenkamp I used to be ba'al shacharit in Amsterdam, in a kehilla that was founded by refugees from Berlin in 1938/1939 and I now realize where we got our nusach from. And the difference with the "Dutch" kehillot, that do have a Western ashkenazi nusach.
@@trabacula2000 Don't discourage him. I think Othman Ahmad was expressing how similar his practice is. There are many of our brethren in the diaspora who are not aware of their Jewish lineage. Cherish what we have in common, for what we have in common is the Love of G-d.

what does it have with the video in common ? Muslim and Christs have their chants and stuff fron jews since its the oldest monotheist religion and Muslims are the youngest so what you comment supposed to tell us ?
The combination of his voice and the acoustics of that Synagogue make for an amazing experience

Sounds like christian orthodox chants
indeed there are some similiarities between eastern european jewish liturgical sound and ancient christian modes
where do you think christian orthodox chants came from?
