But a week of no replies to my “good mornings” sucked. I got frustrated, and we talked about it. Communication is important in every relationship. But for a long-distance one, it’s scary. All it takes for the relationship to fizzle away is just, not responding. Cherish the relationship, even when you never/barely meet. Talking to each other about the distance hurts. Wanting to meet but being unable to (money/commitments) hurts so much. So far, I’ve only met my partner in person twice. I dream of the day we even live in the same city. well i think its time for a STORY! Edit : (this is based on a true story btw) Once there was a girl. She was a happy girl, had good parents, good friends, good grades, everything about her life seemed perfect, from the surface. The girl hated the way she looked, and even made herself sick to try to be..."pretty" to try to impress the boys at her school and be popular. Until one day when she was on her computer. She got a message. The girl looked at it and it was from a boy. The boy said he saw her picture of her with a funny snap chat filter and couldn't help but ask her about it. The boy and the girl soon started talking everyday. Talking about their interests, their hobbies, or even just about memes, they couldn't stop talking to each other. The girl learns things about the boy, how he plays guitar and about his personal life. But the girl didn't want to go into detail about her personal life. But the boy asked where the girl lived, he learned that she lived all the way in Illinois while he lived in Texas although. Then one day the boy seemed off to the girl. The girl asked whats wrong and he said he needs to tell her something. The girl asks what it is. She waits for his message in anticipation. Her screen lights up with the message "do you want to date?...". The girl says yes to the boys delight. For awhile they are just always texting and calling each other just to say how much they love each other. The boy would always say to her how beautiful she is and how she doesn't need to change. The girl forgets that she hates her body. One night while the two were on a call at 2 AM, the boy is in tears. He is reminded of his parents fighting. The boy isn't to concerned thinking she was just busy. but then another day goes by, and another, and another. Even though he tried so hard to help her love herself she just couldn't accept it. He finds out threw the friend what happened and where she is right now. He feels horrible and feels a need to help her right now. He remembers that he has been saving up money for collage but he doesn't care about that now. Though we did have some changes that pushed me into making those decisions. Ive only been in a long distance relationship for almost 3 months now and we always spend time talking to eachother, video/voice calls and texting. It's comforting.. I’m going through that right now. My girlfriend enlisted into the Navy about a month ago. (5 year enlistment) We’ve been dating for a while but I’m worried about her. In another month she’ll get her phone back. After that it’ll be another 6 months of training before I can see her. And who knows where she’ll be stationed.. it’s a hard road. I’d recommend having the tough conversation with him and ask if he thinks he can handle a relationship like that. Or ask yourself if you can. It won’t get easier unfortunately. But you gotta look after yourself too.

One of the worst things in a distance relationships are the problems that aren't solved at time, in the time you are with you mate, physically. When the couple is away, can't solve those issues properly and that lead to frustration and disconnection from eachother, to break it. Don't led that to happen, solve your problems in situ, don't let them grow in the distance. It would be late, sure it will be late.

It’s funny. I lost my dog today. 18 years old and he was put down. He was suffering. At the moment I didn’t realize that he was gone. That I could never see him again. Never hug him again. In one way I’m relieved. He’s no longer suffering. He’s free to run again. On the other hand, I didn’t want to ever lose him. He’s been in my life since before I could walk. He guarded my door when I was baby. Sniffed me over when I was child as if to see if I was ok. Laid beside me when I would sob after school from being bullied. Now he’s gone. And I wish I could hug him again.

This title really hit me hard. When I saw the video I imediently clicked on it and I keep coming back to it. I don't know if it's the songs or the title. But something about it hits hard... But in a good way. I'm in a long distance relationship at the moment and we are going to be 10 months on the 22nd. We are too young to meet up and just run away. Which sucks because my girlfriend has an abusive mother and a alcoholic father. The area she is living in is the worst too. She is a year younger than me and all I want to do is go save her from all the shit she has had to put up with and keep it from happening anymore. I just feel so helpless and I'm sorry I'm venting but the people that would be in the comments I guess would understand? Idk. But to have to hear about all the crap and then not be able to just hug her and tell her it will be alright and protect her sucks. Ive only been in a long distance relationship for almost 3 months now and we always spend time talking to eachother, video/voice calls and texting. It's comforting..
But sometimes.. when its time to hang up, it finally sinks in that we're far apart. Even though it hurts to think about, wondering if I will ever actually be able to hold his hand.. I still try my best to stay strong for the both of us.
The distance is indeed troublesome but at the same time, its best to find some type of comfort within it, even if you aren't by eachothers sides physically.

I’m going through that right now. My girlfriend enlisted into the Navy about a month ago. (5 year enlistment) We’ve been dating for a while but I’m worried about her. In another month she’ll get her phone back. After that it’ll be another 6 months of training before I can see her. And who knows where she’ll be stationed.. it’s a hard road. I’d recommend having the tough conversation with him and ask if he thinks he can handle a relationship like that. Or ask yourself if you can. It won’t get easier unfortunately. But you gotta look after yourself too.

One of the worst things in a distance relationships are the problems that aren't solved at time, in the time you are with you mate, physically. When the couple is away, can't solve those issues properly and that lead to frustration and disconnection from eachother, to break it. Don't led that to happen, solve your problems in situ, don't let them grow in the distance. It would be late, sure it will be late.
It’s actually a small world and a short wait to achieve being together with the right one is completely worth it IMO

I always struggled to believe in long distant relationship (unless they didn't start irl and then for one reason or another, some of the two have to move. Probably me this year... And I'm with my boyfriend for 9 years now) but I couldn't believe in long distant *real* friendship either... Well It happened. 3 years ago now. And I talk with him everyday. He lives in London, I'm in Italy. So there's also this 'language gap' too. But still, we talk to eachother everyday and we care of eachother so much. It's a really nice feeling that I cherish everyday. Distance sucks, and it would be beautiful to meet him in person, but still it's not unbearable when there's a solid friendship behind.

It’s funny. I lost my dog today. 18 years old and he was put down. He was suffering. At the moment I didn’t realize that he was gone. That I could never see him again. Never hug him again. In one way I’m relieved. He’s no longer suffering. He’s free to run again. On the other hand, I didn’t want to ever lose him. He’s been in my life since before I could walk. He guarded my door when I was baby. Sniffed me over when I was child as if to see if I was ok. Laid beside me when I would sob after school from being bullied. Now he’s gone. And I wish I could hug him again.

It’s funny how this came up when my gf ended things recently because she’s moving away soon. I wanted to continue into a long distance relationship but she was afraid of losing me more than anything and that eventually we would end things completely. She thought a friendship would last longer in the long run, and I respect her wishes, but god does it hurt not being able to hold her in my arms, to fiddle with her fingers while they’re entwined with mine, and to kiss her while we laughed and smiled together.
