I know this may not be the first thing we should consider when we talk about sports, but the personalities are always important. Lillard and Giannis are very competitive but are also very reasonable players. They do what needs to be done, without so much as sacrificing the good spirit of the team. Bringing their talents together makes enough sense, but these two getting along well will be the deciding factor.

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus Christ loves you so much that He died for your sins and rose from the dead. If you repent from evil ways, believe that Jesus has paid the fine for your sins on the cross and confess Him as your Lord, you will be saved. You see, we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, that's why Jesus Christ, fullness of Godhead bodily, lived a perfect life, fulfilled the prophecies and law, shed His Blood at the cross just so you could be forgiven, reconciled back to the Father, receive God's love, be made a new creation, whole, sanctified. It's not about religion and what good works you can do to earn salvation, it's only by grace through faith in the finished works of Jesus Christ. Read God's Word, preferably start with Gospel of John, pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you, give you wisdom and revelation that way you're born again and see your life changed by the Spirit of the Most High. Much love and God bless you!

It makes me incredibly sad to see everything that’s happened the past 2 years, I’m honestly glad to have this whole saga over with. The rumor about Dame saying he would stay if Miami didn’t work out and Cronin saying no does make it sting a little more. But honestly I’m glad he went to the Bucks I wouldn’t have loved rooting for Miami and couldn’t have rooted for the Celtics or 76ers too strongly, I also think they have a better chance of winning than Miami and I am a Damian Lillard fan which now makes me a Bucks fan (Blazers still #1 though)! Yup, and Horst did the right thing in not consulting Giannis on trading Jrue. Giannis words after the trade... he f'ing loves Jrue Holiday. Like a brother. He talked about how F'ing amazing he is as a person on but even more so off the court, and that Jrue has become his brother for life. There are zero scenarios where Giannis would have been comfortable ever signing off on trading Jrue. But the same is also true if they traded Middleton instead.
Horst had to pull the trigger without Giannis knowing Jrue was on his way out. Realistically there was no way to do the trade salary wise without Jrue or Khris leaving.
But. Giannis statements were as clear as they were when they traded for Jrue. I love it in Milwaukee. Of course I want to play there for life. But I don't want to play there and never win a title again, I want to be competing for one every season.
This trade was a move to do that.
It sucks for the Bucks too, because just this past march Giannis was all in on bucks for life. They had the #1 overall record in the NBA. That first round exist really, really bothers him. He finds it unacceptable that his team can't get out of the first round even if he's hurt. With Dame, I think for the most part if Giannis was hurt again they could get through with him, Khris, and Brook.
Anyways, as heartbroken as Giannis is over Jrue, he cannot question the Bucks commitment to titles. They just traded for a bonafide superstar that is the next best thing to Steph who is under team control for FOUR MORE YEARS.

Been a portland fan since I went to college over there, honestly the reason I became a portland fan is because of the community they have there. They really went all in on guys like Gred Oden and Brandon Roy and loved those guys. Even though we got bit by the injury bug pretty much every single year the community always had the Blazers backs. I think a lot of it is that the fanbase really understood that we didn't have the team to really win it all but we still managed to knock on the door so many times. I've loved Dame for a long time and I'm glad he is going to get the kind of team that he deserves, I really wish it could have been in portland but I certainly understand that life is short and you have to find a way to get done all the things you want to while you can. As a Blazer fan, i’ve been expecting this for awhile, but I can’t deny the fact that I was over the moon when i saw the news. Giannis and Dame? that’s a match made in heaven if i ever saw one. It sucks he’ll never win a ring for us in Portland but man am I excited to see just how DOMINANT this duo is gonna be. I already got my Bucks Dame jersey ordered, I can’t wait to welcome him back to PDX his first game back either, Moda is gonna be rockin. Another fantastic video Jimmy, as always. 🫶

Taking into account the skillsets and mindsets of these two, the strenghts of the Bucks team and how they cover up for Dame's weaknesses and vice versa, the fact that Milwakee has someone who knows EXACTLY how Lillard plays and how to use him effectively in Terry Scotts, i think this is a match made in heaven for all parties involved. I honestly think that if there is no major injury issues this could be the most succesfull trade in NBA history since Shaq joined Kobe.

Also as a blazers fan, I feel like it’s the best of both worlds. Dame is getting his best teammate and best chance at winning a championship, while the blazers are finally rebuilding and showing competence in the front office. I’m super excited for the season to start!

Hi, Jimmy, have you ever considered commenting basketball news, like every time they come out?
I really enjoy your taking on basketball, and would be nice to have more videos coming, even if they are not as elaborate as the regular, with all the analitics and history.
Anyway, love the content, thanks for it.

Two players with a very different skillset, but also a very similar mentality around winning. I'd like to believe the above combination will make them one of the biggest threats the league has seen in the past decade.

Another thing is how much they compliment each other personally too. Not through their words of course, but how they carry themselves. Both pretty humble down to earth guys that just want to see their team with the highest score at the end of each game. Neither Lillard or Giannis is a real ball hog, so this should be VERY interesting to watch

Giannis doesn't care about being the best or most prolific on the team. If Middleton can become the Middleton pre-surgery, Giannis doesnt care about letting Khris or Damian take the lead. Giannis is here to collect rings, not MVPs. Its something players like Harden didnt realize until it was too late in their careers of what should be a priority. Lets see how this deadly trio turns out.

@@resa574 It's the first stat people should remember players by. Who has the most rings shows who was on the teams that had the championship mentality stronger than any other team that season. Honestly I could say I don't care how they'll perform because two of my all time favorite players to ever do it, who are both just really great guys that aren't swell-headed and have their sights set high? Watching them will likely be beauty on the court assuming they even remotely click with their different styles. They both have great, hard-work oriented mindsets. I hope they can live up to it because these guys deserve it for being fan favorites, great players, but even better people.
