@@ezassegai4793 I tried Pacer, it wasn't great. Apparently the people from Studio Liverpool who joined R8 weren't the actual devs, but the art designers.
That filthy double kick drum at 0.22 that repeats throughout this tune has a place in music history for me! Breakbeat at its finest this.....MASSIVE TUNE & BIG LOVE
Absolutely 100%, my goodness glad to see someone else picking this out! It's the reverb on the snare after the second kick. Just love it. Between that and the constant fill between 3.00ish-3.15, just keeps on bringing me back for more.

05Rudey Same here, played them all and Fusion really nailed it! All Wipeout games are gold but Fusion had that magic! Also Papua New Guinea by Future Sound of London is one of the best tracks ever on any Wipeout game
Huh... no, they didnt nailed it. All WipEout games feature the distinctive floating effect of the ships and Fusion completely fucked it up with "magnetized" ships or like they're attached to rails. That's not how you do a WipEout game. They realized their mistake and all the subsequent titles had the floating physics back in, except when you pass on a MAGEC strip. I love the overall game design except for Temtesh Bay, which is the most retarded track design idea they ever had. You don't put huge doors, opening at the last minute in your face, in a racing game where your speed goes around 850km/h... I have the game though. They had great ideas, but wrongly executed.
Put this on your cycling playlist. The extra paras at toward the end of the song give it a strong finish, which can act as a second of even third gear.
I've been ignoring Fusion in my retroactive exploration of the franchise, but this makes me wanna try it asap. You can hear in it what would eventually become Pulse's soundtrack, which is one of the best Wipeout soundtracks imo. All killer no filler, blood-pumping electronic music.
Fusion beats Pulse by a mile, especially in the soundtrack department, but that's just my opinion. both are infinitely better than Pure's soundtrack any day tho.
@@sunsetman22 Pure is actually one of my personal favorites in the series. That soundtrack is just non-stop heat! Interesting take, I wholeheartedly disagree tho 😂 Pulse beats Fusion in every department, especially gameplay and presentation

That'd be really cool. Although it sounds a little bit like Audiosurf - only that makes the track based on the song you use; but similar principle I guess. Let's hope for some new Wipeout games with the new console then.
I'm glad somebody actually acknowledged this! They really dropped the ball. And it's not like they're any more mainstream than what they were then. They keep using that same crappy 808 beat on every track they make. Headthrash was their last good album and then everything went to crap. The only recent work I like of theirs is their remix of Wonky.
which does kind of bring to mind how these things should really be timed deliberately; perhaps a reactive soundtrack where the game fetches layers of music to suit the way the race is going.... oh I've done soiled myself by thinking such things
Matthew John Hayden SSX Tricky's music did something like that - it was pseudo-interactive to which part of the course you were at, so it filtered out when you got big air, went downtempo if you went through a shortcut and wrapped up once you finished the race. Cool shit
*"OH my GOD, this course is HORRIBLE! Temtesh Bay Course 2 is an absolute TRAVESTY of a circuit. It's difficult for all the wrong reasons."* HellfireWZ

Wipeout HD on Zone mode does a "Rez" kind of thing where the track actually visually changes and alters its colors to the music.
the colour scheme is actually dependent on speed class
