I agree. She has finely tuned, but naturally coarse voice. Which as a combination suits her extremely well.

Sorry for a late reply. But as far as I can tell, they are very different Raag. Notice that Patdeep is Audav-Sampuran while Pilu is Audav-Audav Zaat. In Amrohi or Avaroh, Pilu maintains it's Audav Zaat. The vadi and samvadi sur are also different for both as well as Raag Ang or Chaal.

Nyaas woh sur hei jis se composition barkhaast (end) hoti hei. In case of this composition, it is simply Kharaj (Sa).

Gyan Vaani...sorry for late reply. But notice the sur on the raag...you can work on the notations yourself. And guess what...it'll teach you the chaal of Pilu even more. That is what we used to do when learning. You will thank your guru's later for not giving notations.

I'm honestly not sure Dolan. It's sounds a bit like Bhajani taal. It's definitely an 8 maatre theka...probably a Keherva or some sort.

Sorry if you wanted to learn more Mona. But because of my video editing limitations, I put my teaching notes below the video in the comments. Check it out and see if that helps you. What I try to do is to clearly show you (the visitors) how to get into the groove of the raag and show to identify it right away.
