You are a great teacher, wished I had a teacher like yourself when I was in school. The students that you have taught how to make a classifier and to use this Blue Bowl will remember these things they have learned for their whole life. And these things can help them prosper in life. You need to be recognized as teacher of the generation award in my feeling.
Hey Dan - Awesome videos and I feel like a student of yours myself. One change that I made to my Blue Bowl is that I changed the stock valve to a brass one that I got at Home Depot. Much easier to control the water input.
Love your Prospector classes!!!! It is fantastic how you are training our next generation of gold prospectors. I think it is awesome!!! Would love to come and see you teaching in your classroom someday!!! I had 22 years of teaching my 3rd graders how to pan.. always throwing a few nice placer pieces of gold in their pan for them to find.
'Lucky young adults having you as their tutor ! I hope they collect & apply the knowledge you give on the various subjects I've seen you do with them. Boy are there some great offshoot lessons that could be done to see how they might assess a task/end goal - & decide on what materials should be collected with scenarios involving improvisation budgeting etc. Goodonya mate !! I've enjoyed watching you. Being a teacher of challenging behavior youth myself, I'm always looking for project types & observing teaching methods so that I can give my best to any one I help to learn. Thankyou for the videos !- Kevin McM.
These are great video's John. Thanks for posting them. Showing the kids all the tricks as you go along, is really nice of you. Some of us "students" are listening!
Usually when I run my blue bowl I have a magnet on two of the legs , and when the black sand gets to big there I pull them away and if there was any gold . With the black sand it is released to go on . The magnets I got at Harbor Freight they are wide enough to fit right on the legs Good video and great to see kids learning something new
Dan, do you have to use the magnet first to get out the magnetic stuff out or can you skip that step? Thanks for the great video, you have help me more than you will ever know!
i FINALLY got better at the Bluebowl... I tweaked the design and made it better.. but . i reviewed your video again.. and found some where I could improve on. thanks
Dan I'm probably a few years older than you, but when I was in Jr. High I used to go swimming almost everyday after school in a small river. I use to find the occasional chunk of fools gold. Is it true that where there is fools gold real gold is near by?
I use a magnet to remove residual black sands cuz it can take so long otherwise. But with magnet need to make sure water is flowing at a good clip so it will help prevent picking up gold with the black sand. A vibrating mount would also help to speed the process up. A Silicone mat at the bottom helps also to keep a hold on the gold. Turkey baster is also very useful with this setup.
G'day Dan, How do you stop the recycle water from silting up? I'm finding the (fingers crossed PAYDIRT), muddies up the water and you can't see what's happening in the Blue Bowl. Cheers Paul (Australia).
Thank Dan. Great video. Tried to buy one on ebay but fell throw. So I order it from another place. Went to vo gus reedy creek prospecting place. Got some gold in black sand. So following your video will be great. Russell
I made my own blue bowl, and i was wondering if it would make a difference with recovery if there was minimal space between edge of bowl to the middle. The "hump" is 2" and a quarter just like the pro ones but like i said there's really not that much space in between. Only like 2". Thanks for any replys
I have always been interested in "Gold mining" or panning, but not sure if it's any good around the Boise, Idaho area. Would you know any information? Loved the video, you're so amazing in all your content. SUBBED!!!
nice video Dan, wish i would have gotten into gold when i was in my teen's instead of drugs and beer. at the time i lived in Washington State. but may get into it when i retire. maybe i can come hang with you from time to time and learn. will be about 3 years from now
I think I understand how this works, with centrifugal motion basically, but it seems like one thing goes wrong and you may have to start all over. Could you make a demonstration on how the spiral wheel works? I understand they take a long time so I wouldn't expect it to be time lapsed but just showing the startup, and end results.
So I looked at some other demo's on the spiral wheel and discovered its not for the fine stuff lol. My bad. I'm just trying to find the easiest method as well as cheapest way to get the returns.
Awesome video. I won a blue bowl at a Gpaa meeting in a raffle for five bucks! Haven't had a chance to really put it to good use yet. I won it for only five dollars tho and it has a value of over a hundred dolars .so my gold from the blue bowl might be in retail! Cheers!
Its very finicky and do it sloooowly....hahaha. what crap..i made a blue bucket from a 2 dollar doughnut cake tin and have my fines done in one beer...its not bloody rocket science people..

I really enjoy seeing these videos. I really wish I had access to a class like this hen I was in school!
Thanks for demonstrating the Blue Bowl Dan, I ordered one after I watched your video.

how fun, I wish I had this class in high school.
Excellent work Dan!
Dan, I am fairly new at using the blue bowl. What is the largest size of concentrates your use the bowl for? Thanks.
Dan, do you have to use the magnet first to get out the magnetic stuff out or can you skip that step? Thanks for the great video, you have help me more than you will ever know!
My guess is no because it will filter out the black sand itself.
i FINALLY got better at the Bluebowl... I tweaked the design and made it better.. but . i reviewed your video again.. and found some where I could improve on.
thanks
Awesome!

Your videos are incredible! Thanks for passing the knowledge
Thanks!
where is the inlet of water coming at on your blue bowl, on the side? my eyes aren't as good as they used to be. nice video, thanks.
I just got a great deal on a Blue Bowl Kit Saturday that came with everything for only $60.. it's only been used one time and still looks brand new
Nice!
What Size of Pump do you use with your Blue Bowl GPM Wise?
750 GPH
Have you ever used the Desert Fox?
How would the blue bowl and gold cube affect copper, zinc, and amalgamated metals at a particle level? ( like gold/copper, gold/nickel, gold/zinc?)
I made my own blue bowl, and i was wondering if it would make a difference with recovery if there was minimal space between edge of bowl to the middle. Dan Hurd, Best Teacher Ever
I don't know about that. I do know I'm having fun!
You sure have taught me a lot. Thanks for the reply, So cool
Dan if you had to buy one a blue bowl or Miller table which one would you pick.

Hello greetings please I have a worry how do you separate the particles from the the returning water coming to in to the blue bole

Actually the spiral wheel works really well with the fine stuff.

Nice!
You should put that 3d printed dry magnetice seperator above this because it feeds at about the same rate.
Can we use this system for microscopic gold ores
Hi Dan is this the best method for flower gold thanks
Not necessarily
great stuff mate, very instructional.
That's awesome, I need one of those.
Your the GREATEST
thanks
What pump are you using?
I think it's a 1000 gallon per hour bilge pump
Gosh ..prospectin in school that is so cool it defies description ... way to go .. should be more of it ..😁fabbo
Thanks
Changing to a better valve improves blue bowl
great video
Thanks!
I made a very small vortex bowl ....
change the valve from the cheap one furnished with the bowl to a good brass valve, better control
If you use a maginite to pull out the black sands before hand you will get better results
красота😊
I think so, when gold is very very smallist fly into the water is really sir
You can see the gold even with the bright lights
Yup!
Use a gate valve instead of a ball valve!
I gotte blue blowl but I make et
If you love drama , then the blue bowl will be very finicky , If you keep it simple stupid , It works very well all on it's own.
689th thumb 👍up.
Estwing pan!
FRUIT .
Yea, that looks like a lot of work.
I just use mercury & nitric acid.
Its very finicky and do it sloooowly....hahaha. what crap..i made a blue bucket from a 2 dollar doughnut cake tin and have my fines done in one beer...its not bloody rocket science people..
