That chunk you took out at 18:20 should be displayed at your bee keeping conventions.
We got our 1st. Hive a year ago. Watching dirt rooster and up the beeman we have completed 4 cutouts could not have done it without you and jp,s videos thanks !
So proud of you. Look how high up you are with no help. Even Mr. Ed would be proud!!!!
Crazy looking hive, I likened it to a Coral Reef also...or maybe a dead brain! LOL!
Ha! A dead brain. lol
Holy crap...most hives are so orderly and neat; those bees built their hive into the freaking Winchester House! It looked more like a modern art installation than a beehive; come to think of it, I liked it more than I do most modern art pieces~😂😂
Shame I couldn't have made a cast of it
That was a jazz comb. Hope you got the queen DirtRooster. Nice lift. See you next year and have yourself a grand time celebrating.
It WAS jazz comb. lol
My cat went crazy when she heard the lifts alarm, 628: Honey Bees: Sugar sugar XD
I had my headphones on. XO
Wow that is old comb now. Dang look at all the bees 🐝 wow
Some flakka bees built that crazy hive😂🤣
Looking at the gas prices . I could tell that our new president was not in office yet.
I really can't wait until next spring to start my hives. Love watching you. Thanks for all the great videos learning a lot about handling bees
Every video I learn something new.
Wow, that is some crazy looking comb. What makes it like that? Old comb that got hot, and melted into a blob, before new bees got to it? Man, it looks like a coral reef!
So is this the 628DirtRooster channel, where hobby tree-keeping is a way of life?
That was certainly some crazy looking comb - maybe a previous wax melt while it was unoccupied with no colony to keep the air-conditioning going.
Love those wooly bear caterpillars...
Up before the sun, once every blue moon
Wow, that is a nice lift. That little Ditch Witch you parked by is made in my home town, Perry Ok. My Granddad and Dad both retired from there. Sweet gas pump action B Roll. Sinking chimney, no bueno. Should have called it The Big Nasty Brain Hive. lol All in a days work. Nice removal. I bet your back is screaming, mine would be too.
It did kinda look like a big nasty brain. Yeah my back was screaming by the time I got done. I'm so tense when I'm up in the air like that.
This comb reminded me of ocean coral... there was no symmetry at all!
2nd this.
Tree trimming till dark cuz you cant lose the lift!!!! Haha
Love your vids man. Made me want to get bees
When I lived in Florida I bought Gallberry honey from beekeeper in Clewiston, FL. It was a dark honey, like a dark cane syrup, and was very tasty.
we find alot of wild hives similar to that comb structure out in the timber in N MS. we have yet to find 2 that are the same in the structure style.
Yay another video to watch keep them coming
My dirt rooster hat comes in tomorrow, keep on keeping on brother
That's what I'm takin about!
really cool caterpillar :)
wow, that's some crazy comb!
Thats is some of the strangest looking comb I've ever seen ... great video, thanks for sharing with us
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Everyone! ------------> I'm surprised Jeff didn't show up in the Monk Van to help you out and find the queen for you.
Love your videos !
💪🏾💪🏾💯happy holidays
Wow what a mess!!😉😁🏴☠️🏴☠️
Great to watch, I wonder if local rental houses have a similar lift here. Sad, too cold here in central texas to mess with bees. I miss biloxi and slidell😁
I'm sure they do.
Don't get home till dark. Procrastinate like a man!!!-
LMAO!
Great job, Randy!
Thank you kindly!
Love your videos, been watching about 2 years. Started building some boxes( not as easy as it looks,) going' to try to catch a swarm this year. Took a beekeeping class, learned a lot.
@OBAMFSpike I plan on using lemongrass oil along with a couple of used frames (thinking they take honey with them and they will need to put it somewhere.)
You can do it!
Ha Randy, that comb was gnarly like the rest of 2020. Here's hoping 2021 is bright and tasting delicious!
I hope so too!
Go trim the trees rooster see y’all on the next video be safe and GOD BLESS y’all Amen 🙏
Got the pole saw all warmed up.
That was some crazy comb looked like it had been hot and melted and reworked. 👍❤🐝
Hi from the UK got to say love watching your videos so relaxing to watch and interesting to see how you remove hives
Dang, looks like the deadout melted/got eaten off the soffit and slid down into that one side where it folded over onto itself and eventually hardened. Amazing they were able to get it back into any sort of a usable state, really!
That's pretty much how it happened.
@@628DirtRooster It's always amazing how they can take such a horrific mess and still make it usable instead of just burying it and starting over.
Really enjoy your videos, keep up the good work
Naven south Africa 🇿🇦
Thanks so much for saying hi. Happy new year.
That WAS a wr4eck and you can trim a bunch of trees in a little time. Then when you come with a chipper behind ye olde Roostermobile you can do some grinding. Dehydrated ain't a BIT of fun. And after you soak your face full just put in for a extra large HUGE bacon and shrimp sammich with a gallon of gravy to sop in. Tree trimmers wages is HIGH! GBWYall and still praying for Pop!
Pretty sure dirtrooster is the coolest guy I’ve ever even heard of
That was one weird-looking hive! Glad you got some good honey. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
Yes it was
I sure do love your channel buddy. Always enjoy your content 👍👍
The guy in the dark blue shirt is awesome.
makes me think this hive might have been poisoned at one time causing the bees to make waky comb
Thank you Randy, For all you have taught me over the years. I have seen every video you make. Yes you are essential as are the honey bees. Happy New year . Prayers for you and the family.
Your videos are addictive. I’m hooked
Careful you'll end up in beehab. Oh that was cheesy.
Watched the video for the bee removal, rewatched the video for the funky caterpiller
I enjoy your videos so much!!
I did my AIT for the Army in Gulfport MS - seabee base for Carpentry and masonry
Another great beekeeping video brought to you by 628 Dirt Rooster! You're looking good Randy! Have a blessed day and a Happy New Year! Thank you for all the videos you give us!
That was some crazy comb for sure! Almost like they were doing some really strong drugs or something.
Maybe there was some cannabis plant nearby they were feeding off of lol.
Never can tell. Maybe they got into the old man's blood pressure meds.
@@628DirtRooster LOL
Hey Randy, I was wondering if it was the heat from the roof that caused the comb to melt and misshapen, and they just continued to build on it like it was?!? So very interesting to see!
I figured out why I enjoy watching your channel, so very much, it’s like I’m working with my dad, which I was lucky enough to do for years. He would show me everything and explain as we went, just as you do. Of course, it was usually ME who didn’t most of the scut work! He taught me everything, from carpentry to plumbing and electrical. Today I can build my own house if need be. It just came to me today how similar you are.
Great videos! ♥️from a fan.
Added benefit for You and Elizabeth when you have a lift for a few hours.
Enjoyed the cutout!
It is nice when we have the time to take advantage of it.
Lift jobs seem to always be aggrieving cutouts
Anything off the ground is a pain.
That's a lot smoke guess it really clams the bees down
Makes them move so I can work.
Ohhh, honey doooo! 😆
Yes!
Hold my beer, watch this...
Great removal strangest comb I ever done seen.👍
Good one Dirt, enjoyed the show. 👍🐝
Looked like they were about to hand you a new one when you first opened the soffit, think you lucked out, course a lil extra smoke never hurts.
At the 20:10 mark I was thinking you likely vacuumed the queen by the way they were responding.
Did you wind up seeing her a few days or so later?
Anyway, happy new year to you brother, hope y’all had a great Christmas too. ✌️🐝
It did look like they are about to put a smack down on me, I wish I could remember about that queen. This was from last year. LOL
@@628DirtRooster I completely understand not remembering what happened with this queen a year ago, been there for surely.
I’m betting you vacuumed her up or you would have shown her in the video for the money shot. 😉
It makes me happy to see you guys talk. I watch both of you
I watch both you guys. Like I said addicted to bee videos. I can’t explain it. 🤷♀️
Hope Pete and Mr Ed are doing good.
They both are doing well. :)
What a crazy comb pattern! Never seen anything like that... My best guess, being that I am not a beekeeper at all, is that comb started out as "normal" stuff, and then the sun warmed it up later in the season, and then it got all weird, and they just went with it.
Lol I think I would have to take a break and find my inner pooh bear and have a snack lol
I've never ever seen such whacky comb!
Wife will ALWAYS find something for ya to do.. that 🍯 sure look good
April 25,2021....watched this after church! Enjoyed every minute! Gotta go cook! Thank you Randy! Made my day 🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝🐝
You should have taken mr Ed with you and you would have been home by now , Real good video thenks for showing
Randy, that was the craziest comb that I’ve ever seen. How’s your dad? I hope you had a great Christmas and you have a Happy New Year!
No huge change but dad is doing a little better. Thanks for asking
I wonder if that is a dead bird or mouse under all that propolis ! LOL
Haha That was a dirt dauber nest at the nine minute mark. It's a mud nest built by a type of wasp. Some people call them mud daubers.
Love the paw prints on the truck windshield.
LOL
Merry Christmas, dirtrooster! To you and yours.
I’m so glad to see that you are well, during this terrible time. stay safe. Love 💕 from Australia 🇦🇺
That was a peculiar and wacky hive. Very artistic. Any funny herbs growing around there? XD
Happy New Year from Romania!🎄 👍
Happy new year!
Great job like all ways
Thank you for what you do and Merry Christmas!
Same to you!
Great job DR and keep that pretty wife happy LOL
Always!
Hope you and your family have a prosperous 2021. I enjoy your videos. My uncle kept beehives back in the 80s. Stay away unless he was with me. We could do anything we wanted without suits or hats. As long as I was with him they knew I was okay.
Merry Christmas Randy! So fun to go along with you on your bee adventures! Could the hive have been built with cooler temperatures and then when sun got hot melted it into the weird shaped comb?
Possibly!
I have never seen bee’s make a hive that looks like a ant colony, that’s crazy, what is your theory on why they would do this??
This is pretty common to see with hives that have died out, been damaged and then been built upon by another colony.
great catch..
I beleive iver the years, heat did a number on the comb, but the bees made it work anyway
Did a great job!!❤️💯🙏🏻
Happy New Year and stay safe!
Merry Christmas
You get that honey do list for the lift? Happy New Year 🎆🎊
Finally glad to see you again. Been missing your stuff.
Perfect time to knock out a few jobs on the “Honey Do” list. Hoping you had a great Christmas. Wishing you & yours a happy New Year! Definitely not your neat comb.
Thank you! You too!
$2.66 per GALLON!!!! gotta love America
Wacky comb, hmm? I find it curious. Does someone have a wacky tobaccy grow getting visited by those stoner bees? 😂
What do you use to seal the opening next to the brick? Thanks for sharing your videos.
I like clean jobs LMAO ~ Things are going to get harder and harder to fine ~ NICE LIFT RANDY
Thx DR ,merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family!
First!!!!! Looks like it got hot and melted down that caused the crazy comb to me.
Is that what really causes it? I was wondering.
That’s the spotted lantern fly eggs on the outside of that wood..that waxy looking shit
Why would bees build comb in such a strange, messy way? This is the first time that I've seen comb built like that. Usually it's nice and neat, in lines. Good video 👍
Those bees need someone to teach them how to build a proper hive
for the maps and having no service, if you use google maps, you can download offline maps :)
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Everyone! Stay safe and warm! 6th
628 ; Strange looking comb to be sure , but interesting . Its a big hive though . How many bees do you guess ? Its good to see you back . When you sample the honey , can you tell by it's taste where the bees have been , what Plants ? Jack
