How to sew a letterbox zipper

- Hi Makers,
This tutorial concentrates specifically on inserting a 'letterbox' zipper into a bag or pouch. It's relatively easy, the key is in the exact zipper measurements and the neatness of sewing.
You can use either a standard (nylon) zipper in this project or a more heavy duty zipper (with metal teeth) such as the one I have chosen - but either will work just as well.
As you can see from my project, it's possible to leave a tiny amount of the lining visible which adds a little decorative element ..however, you can quite easily completely hide this is you so wish.
This kind of zipper application is perfect for a pocket within a larger item also - it's entirely your choice as to how you use this technique.

A big THANK YOU for simply saying "lining right side DOWN" !!!
I just couldn't figure it out myself as (many vids later) nearly everyone uses plain fabric for the linings! 😅
@dianemerrett3774 you're welcome !! 🤗 Yep, it can be frustrating when you don't know which side is up or down ! Glad it was helpful ☺️
Lovely clear tutorial! Thank you
Thanks for your kind comment @samantha4130 🩷
