Finally! But the number of issues included is cut in half from previous volumes (I'm sure the price won't be!). They could have reached Stern with volume 6 but I guess they're stretching things out to sell more books.
Yeah wish they would just do the 12-1300 page book give us the rest of it now! Haha but still thankful, just means itll be another 2-3 years for rest of it i guess, patient waiting game for vol 7 now but still thankful for vol 6! Awesome news!!
Although I'm grateful we're finally getting a volume 6 would it have killed them to have included the extra 19 issues needed to close the gap between Volume 5 and the Spiderman by Roger Stern Omnibus?
Its true it could have been the size of a clone saga omnibus, instead we got to wait another 2-3 years lol im still thankful but its just frustrating how long they make you wait just to read something in order

This seems…small? Masterworks 18+19 are less than 600 pages total, and even with three more issues that’s a few hundred pages smaller than the previous smallest in this series.

Why does Marvel always have to get weird whenever the main title books start overlapping creator-centric books? No matter what they do, it's always designed to maximize how many books you need to buy to fill in the gaps. Disappointing.
Yay! But also ... really?! This will be a very small omnibus, they could and should have gone up to #223, also including all of AMS Masterworks #20+21 closing the gap to the Roger Stern omnibus. They're pretending they're closing the gap because Stern Omni starts with #206 but with 207-223 not being in it that doesn't really count.
As long as Disney/Marvel can get us to pop 75 to 100 dollars for two to three books instead of just one for 150 they are happy and in the gravy since they know we'll buy them. Yeah, Disneyland the most magical place in the world where your money magically poofs into Disney execs Bank accounts.
I hope the Spectacular omnis will also go on, I'm still waiting for the "Breaking News" announcing volume 2 !!

Mapping of this is interesting. Less issues than normal and if they are doing 206-251 in vol 7, that book will be massive.

@@marcelo-ramos A few reasons. The black suit era starts at 252 which is the logical starting point for an omnibus. The Roger Stern omnibus already collects 224-252 (plus 206). These were already restored by Cory Sedlmeier's team for that omnibus including the letter pages. I think if you split up 206-251, there would be little incentive for people to pick up vol. 8 if you already own the Roger Stern omnibus. I think it's an easier sell to people that already have the Roger Stern omnibus as one volume because it includes a good amount of issues not in the Roger Stern omni. They could have made a large vol. 6 going up to 223 but then you'd be in an even worse situation than what they chose to do. Vol. 7 would be entirely a double dip outside of a couple annuals. This also would put them right back inline with the MMW mapping. We'll see what happens but this is what I would bet on for vol. 7.
Finally, ASM VOL 6. Super excited. It would’ve been nice to have the DM cover be 194 intro of the Black Cat.

Definite pickup... Getting the DM, but I wonder why not the Black Cat cover from ASM 194? I think it's a better cover and it's a more significant issue. Now gimme more Spectacular and a reprint of the Michelinie-Layton-JRjr Iron Man, please. Thanks for the announcement, Omar.

Mapping seems weird. Are they planning to include all of Stern’s run in Vol 7 plus the missing gap at the beginning? Because if it not a vol 7 just stopping part way through his run seems strange.
This is exactly what I'm thinking. If vol 7 was just Stern's run, it would almost entirely be a double dip and I could see it not selling. They are going to eliminate this by bundling Stern with around 20 issues or annuals that aren't in the existing omnibus. Book is going to be huge though.

Day one pre-order, I'll be getting that dm cover. Also on a sidenote I would have thought marvel would have just collected the contents of all of masterworks asm 19-21 but I think I see what marvel is going for mapping wise.

Dude its what ive been saying in these comments and youre the only other one to sya anything. Every other Omni is 40 issues and now they give us 24? It's such a con! Now they are going to make it another 2 omnibuses to get past Stern's which we already have .
That’s how I felt about the Romnibus. They could’ve easily fit all 75 issues in 2 volumes but instead we got 3 skinny volumes at $125 a piece!

I wish somebody at Marvel got tasked with briging vol 5 with the Roger Stern omni and made the mistake to assume Stern's start at 206. I say that because that would mean it could be fixed. However, knowing Omar, I can only assume he already told them and did his best to make them understand they screwed up.
I don’t think you screw up a miscount 400 pages. Marvel knows and they don’t care about the gap. at the very least they could’ve lined this volume up closer to collect up to 252 in Asm7 and they didn’t.
fans will eventually sell their Stern omnibus and get ASM7-8 to cover #206-262 ish.

It's a disgrace and they should have covered the full gap to stern this time round but they didn't because they are just greedy! They will always release writers over numbered volumes so they can skin you twice. Every other omnibus your are getting 40 issues yet this they gave us 24 because they know they can push a load more shit in to squeeze us even more! Omar will say nothign against them and won't even speak of this but anyone with two braincells and a bit of bottle know that this Marvel /Disney bs corparation have spread our legs and shafted us up the arse!

Yay! I have been reading a lot of modern Spidey recently and it has reminded me just how much I love the character. I will definitely be reading the next in my queue of the old school books soon (vol 4) and I can't wait to add volume 6 to my collection!

Excellent news today! This one has been a long time coming. I kinda wished they used ASM 194 as one of the covers, but I'll take what I can get.
I never expected marvel to continue the volumed omnibus numbering into the Roger Stern run. Volumes would go up to 6 or 7 and then it would be the creater or event collection issue blocks that already exist and continue to be made. So i'm surprised to read so many comments about the eventual eat into and move beyond Stern w/volumes 8 and up. So with that logic and they did not remap creators it would be a re-release of the Roger Stern omnibus but titled as Volume 8? Would you want that?
That’s been the thinking by most collectors for a long time, myself included after just 3 years, Marvel however are now acting as though that was never gonna be the case when the numbered volumes got to a certain point even though it’s obvious these books are lining up more and more without treading on them with newer/renamed ones.
@@g-roy23 Not sure how long everyone here has been collecting, but when Epics around 7 years ago didn't start lining up with omnis, I thought something was going on. Sure enough the mapping is different for all of these formats. Then the Events and Creator Centric books became a big question. I believe it was Jeph York one of the editors that would frequent the MMW boards told us that they were not going to map around the event or creator centric omnis. To keep that in mind. So pretty much we had options of getting something now or waiting years for the next volumes to come.
@@mattthompson3371 If that was indeed the case going that far back then Marvel should’ve done a much better job of being transparent with what their plans were long term with the classic omnis for collectors outside of the forums and those like myself who’ve come aboard in the years since, especially with the amount of demand there was to reprint these books in order to help fill gaps that (based on the info you’re giving me) just happened to go hand in hand with eachother like in the case of Massacre Prelude-Jim Lee 2 after that & X-Tinction Agenda come out.
What the hell? 24 issues? and I thought it was food that was getting smaller! The other ones have nearly 40 ASM issues. I bet they wont charge any less though. Thats a disgrace. Happy but very dissapointed . Oh well just another 3 years before we get the other ones. this should have went to Sterns run and made it a big boy. I mean 38 is the average and this is 24 issues, 14 issues been stolen from the reader to be honest so we got only 2 masterowrks. PISSED OFF! Some of us are not 20 anymore!!!!

Disappointed. 19 issues of ASM missing between this and the Stern omnibus that this could have easily contained. Just another blatant cash-grab from Marvel. Might just stick to DC and IDW for my omnibus hobby as long as Marvel treat their fans as nothing more than a piggy bank to be pumped for money.

It doesn’t align with it, Stern wrote 206 & 224-252. this is still missing 207-223.

would an asm vol 7 be needed? we already have the stern omni (which goes to 252), and they have announced an omni that picks up at 252 and goes to 263 (the incomplete black costume saga) so I hope the next asm omni would cover both asm and ppsm from 264 on. basically I think asm and ppsm (with the occasional web-o-spidey book when necessary) should be combined as omnibuses from that point forward as their stories tended to overlap, up to the mcfarlane era.
yes the stern omni has 206 and then jumps to 224. eventually the stern omni will be obsolete when ASM 7 and 8 and spectacular 2 come out.

While this vol 6 seems small, I get it. Vol 7 would likely be ASM 206-252. As Stern’s omni includes ASM 206, 224-252, this would make only one omni have duplicate content.
I doubt Vol. 7 would cover #206-252, as that would be 1400 pages compared to just 600 pages in volume six. Likely looking at two volumes to cover that period.
Vol 7 just needs to be 206-223 and annual 14-15.
Yeah, but if this went to 223, and volume 7 was small with 224-252 (notably still bigger than this volume), there would only be one issue's worth of overlap rather than 28, and people could choose to keep the Stern omni or buy volume 7.

The Amazing Annual 13 and Spectacular Annual 1 are already collected in the Spectacular Omnibus Vol 1. They should´ve ommited those and included more Amazing issues. And the Amazing Annual 12, as far as I remember, is just a reprint of previous Amazing issues. If that is the final content to be in Vol 6 then I hope instead of Vol. 7 they announce an Amazing Spider-man by Denny O'Neil that includes all the issues before the start of the Roger Stern omnibus.

@MastermindAXL what is it disrespectful ? maybe the fact that they specifically made a thin omnibus without giving fans a choice how to collect ASM? Through creator-centric or numbered books. Asm6 should include 181-223 issues
@jaskoka8108 Have you forgotten how upset people were with X-Men's mapping? The last time Marvel "gave people a choice," they were practically crucified for it. If they mapped it this way, it'll give people all the issues they need to go to Stern which starts at #206.
