Very relaxing to watch Stephen i kept African Cichlids for 20 years in a 4 foot tank but tying to keep to hobbies is getting expensive now closed my tank down 2 years ago might set it up in the future tried salt water for a while my god was it hard to keep up with and the price of fish yeah you can keep them lol 👍👍
I agree on all that, brother. We had cichlid tanks for several years too (plus that 125 gallon with the 2 Oscars, which are also in the cichlid family). I'm keeping lower maintenance (less expensive) fish now, and going to emphasize the plant side of things for a while too this time 😊
I can see them getting along as they stay at different depths from each other. Keeping fish is always an interesting hobby. So many different types of fish that can be kept.
The last couple days, I think Jake believes himself to be a Cory Catfish, LOL, he's been following them around and rooting in the gravel like they do 🤦♂😂
@modelspeedshop thanks, Mike 🙏growing up I had a 10 (or maybe it was a 20 🤔) gallon tank, then after setting in after active military life (still did government/paramilitary work and civilian jobs for years, but we weren't subject to moving our homes around like active military) we kept fish for years. I missed that ✌️😊
Thanks, brother 🙏 That's what I've heard (and why I never tried one), but there's so many fresh (or even brackish) water varieties that it's just not worth the extra effort and expense to me to (keep a reef/salt water tank)
@@SmallADVentures1973 Your welcome! I hear ya and I forgot to mention the cost too lol your right! The wife and I were thinking of doing a fresh water small tank now after you showing this might have to, so cool lol
Cool tank! Just a heads up since I did this exact thing on my first planted tank and wondered why they died. The live plants you have are Anubias you don't actually push them down in the substrate they do best attached to a rock or driftwood I just use gel super glue to glue the rhizome down and it will thrive after that :)
@lukeanderson1330 thanks, my friend (for the kind words and the info) 🙏 I've been reading about just that, they won't be planted much longer, I'll be adding stone or driftwood just for that reason 😊👍
Shoot, I missed this one brother. Definitely a great and relaxing hobby!! Very cool. And you’ve got a nice start there. Never tried the live plants either.
@kyledehartsscaleworks thanks, Kyle 🙏 Last night I did some tank maintenance and a complete remodeling, the plants that needed it are now properly glued to a piece of plastic rock 😊
COOL FISH!.... ggod for you!
Thanks, Nick 😊🙏
They're beautiful :-)
Thanks 🙂

very nice. I raised tropical fish for over 30 years. I miss them so much. I had 24 tanks for 15 years
Thanks, Tiffany 🙏 Wow 24, that must've been awesome!! We may have had 24 tanks over the years, but I think 8 is the most we had at one time.
Cool fish Steven, enjoy your fish.
@@DonnieGriffin-eo2eo thanks, Donnie 😊🙏
Cool fish Steven, I used to have fish too. All my life except the last 8 yrs or so. And yes it can get crazy expensive ⚡

Nice little tank for them, and good research on each. We keep fish as well, have been for about 12 years.

Pretty neat! We used to have a 20 gallon with some rainbow tetras and some cory cats! One of our corys was an albino.
