    A very informative and useful review. I agree with you that the chain guard needs to be tougher. Battery life is another issue, but I believe Stihl preferred to keep the weight down to make it easier to handle. As you say, two batteries in the pack would be better.

    my battery lasted about 3 hours before it needed recharged. so it might depend on how hard and fast you go about your work. i trimmed a 15 foot or more mock orange bush that had grown up and into a dogwood tree next to it and over the top of my carport. branches were 3 to 4 inches in diameter. now im an old lady in my seventies, mind you, when i cut one branch i had to stop and wrestle the branch out of a tangle of other branches, no easy task. took a while. then when i got that done i cut up all the branches into firewood. this was in all a good three hours of off and on battery use. but i was suprised it lasted that long. so far im happy with mine. ok im done waffling.

    Love the tool. My only issue is that I have small hands so it is a little awkward to get both buttons at the same time. Great for take down of my gardens at the end of season with woodier stocks. Definitely need a second battery and one thing I have learned with all batteries keeping the inside in heated room is better for them.

    Yes ! I got one too! And your right about the battery 🔋 being charged up & the green light 💡 stays on stable when it is charging ok - when the green light 💡 goes out on the charger 🔌 the battery 🔋 is fully charged!
    But the manufacturer did Not state that in the instruction manual? 😕☹️ And they could have made it a bit more powerful? in regards to battery 🔋 power 👉Like a 12V battery 🔋? Anyways 😕☹️😰🤦🏻‍♂️

    • @DIYwithWayne
      @DIYwithWayne  2 года назад

      The size and type of wood along with other variables would determine battery life. We do recommend getting a second battery. For small jobs with a full charge it is adequate, but for much more than that you are going to want a second battery.

    This would be a useful tool if the battery lasted longer than 10 minutes. In my experience, that’s 10 minutes of light use, mostly 1” with a few 2-3” limbs. It’s hard to believe Stihl doesn’t even offer a larger battery as an upgrade. Extremely disappointing. If only someone made an adapter that would accept the Milwaukee M12 batteries we’d have a winner. I feel like the case design is a real bust as well. Mine won’t stand up on its own, I have to lean it up against something or it flops over and falls right off the counter. I expected so much more out of a Stihl product.

    • @DIYwithWayne
