Hakeem taught three generations of big men how to maximize their skills on the block by focussing on their foot work. Elena would be a great teacher for big guys who struggle with free throws. She basically shoots her freebies like she’s shooting a nerf basketball-and it works! If you’re 6-5/6-6 or taller you don’t need to put your entire body into your free throws. We’re all taught from a young age (I’m not a big guy, btw) to focus on knees, elbows and follow-through.
Thing is, if you’re that tall & you’ve got big hands you don’t need all that ish when nobody’s guarding you. Elena figured out that for someone her height (or taller) freebies are easier when there are fewer moving parts. She flexes her knees ever so slightly, lines up her shot & flicks her wrist.

Why is her elbow out while shooting
+Gabi B her elbow is in. 2:25 she literally says "keep your elbow out" .
if you mean why does she keep it up instead of bring it down instead of lower like regular people, its probably because shes tall and has long arms and its a comfort thing. thats how oscar robertson and blake griffin shoot their FTs
She should be paid more than the men. They should have a woman on every NBA team. It would be more entertaining.

That’s interesting, she shoots ft’s similar to how I shoot them. I bring the ball up closer to my face and go up on my toes with hardly bending my knees. My personal best is 80 consecutive. I would recommend to anybody our method of shooting ft’s. Whether in business or sports you should follow a successful model.

She’s one of the best free throw shooters in basketball history yet you wouldn’t teach someone to shoot like her. Proof there’s no “perfect” technique.
Why wouldn't you ? Her form is perfect other than the pause, which isn't a big deal shooting ft.
