I really enjoy the ride alongs. Seems like his head was on a swivel watching it load the trailer. Keeps you on point at all times. Appreciate your efforts as always Jason.
It is not an easy task to run one of these forge harvesters because it will fill those 22 ton wagons in three minutes and you have to keep a constant eye on the flow and helpful. The wagon is and how you fill it.
Great video Jason, Neighbor dairy farm has one just like the video. Chopping hay an corn into forage semi trucks. Very impressive an amazing how things have changed over the years.
Corn chopping vids are always some of my favorite to watch. It's a shame there aren't more NH choppers around to see. Almost non existent here in my area of the state..
Thank jason for this corn silage videoing hard to believe that we are half way thru summer .I love ❤️ the smell of fresh chopped corn silage.again Thank you jason for all the work you do in each video and even giving the orginal price tag of the equipment
A lot of people are commenting on the farmer not talking much! It’s hard to carry on a conversation with that much going on! Also noticed that he runs the header backwards on the end rows to clear out the small grasses, weeds and low lying weeds. I thought we were the only ones who had to do this
Great film job showing various perspectives of forage harvest 👍 Great medium size spfh from JohnDeere. I do always enjoy videos like this one... all the modern machinery and the different harvest tactics. I am really looking forward to the tillage film that might follow 😉 Maybe u have the opprtunity to catch a demo 9rx starting at 690🐎🐎🐎 Best regards from Bavaria
Awesome video! The corn crop in my county in Pennsylvania is really poor this year. We just haven't got any measurable rain. Everytime we would get rain in the forecast it would just pass over and fall in the neighboring counties.. I always gotta laugh at the interviews. Some of the farmers really seem excited to run their machines, and others don't seem too interested or are too distracted lol. I'm sure it can be awkward sometimes.
It’s cool to see. I did not catch any yesterday filming this one. This video with Krone choppers I posted last week shows cross row chopping ruclips.net/video/7_hkEe3j9_A/видео.htmlsi=CJSNPV2edtbBTUsm
We have a John deer 7700 self propelled, and never mind we have to go chop out a pivot because it tipped over so we can get a new one before we start harvest
A custom harvester locally has the 9900i cutter. He cuts about 250 tons per hour in heavy corn silage. He has 4-22’ long silage trucks holding 17 tons that he uses to haul away the feed. On a one mile haul from the field to the pit the trucks have to be on their game to get back before the last truck is full.
The 9900i is an impressive chopper. This farm uses two 9500i choppers. Each tractor has 5 wagons keeping it going. Here is a video of the same farm in 2017 with all of the wagons in action at ruclips.net/video/G37E8nnEyyA/видео.htmlsi=xf-_r2FSfLuvtbpx
Totally awesome tractor and corn harvesting operation . Much respect for the farmers and all they must endure for harvest . Thank you for putting us in the cab of one of these great machines . Seeing how farmers do what they do when harvesting is very interesting. Much Appreciated I wish they got paid what they should be paid instead of all the fat cats and politicians playing all their BS on them
Would it be helpful to mention how the 9500i stacks up against similar models from other brands or earlier versions of John Deere's forage harvesters? Thanks
great vidéo thanks jason This fall I am going to Canada for silage I will drive a 7810 and a New Holland FP 240 2 row forage harvester and the father of this family where I am going a New Holland FP 240 3 row with the 8245r and the son on the 830 who takes care of the silage wagon to empty them and further a silage site with their 12 truck 6 kenwort and 6 petterbilt and the two large forage harvesters a krone big
Very cool on the FR. I have filmed Deere, Claas and Krone. I am a life long NH chopper fan but I have not filmed a modern FR. I hope to find one to feature.
The cost of that machine, plus the options is pretty eye watering. Need to be doing some big acreage to justify it. I do wonder sometimes, how it is, that farmers can actually turn a profit, particularly these days - the margins gotta be pretty tight !
These are industrial machines at a big investment. Just the header costs more than an entire forage harvester and head 40 years. Yet 40 years the same machine at 225 hp would harvest 4 rows at 1.5 mph. Now they can harvest 8 at 4 mph. The harvest window is tight and putting up quality feed as fast as possible is important.
He is very nice. Running a Ford harvester takes a lot of concentration because these 22 ton wagons fill up in three minutes and you have to pay attention how you’re loading the wagon from back to front and topping it off. I appreciate him letting me ride along to ask questions because it is a distraction.
When you’re chopping, it takes three minutes or less to fill one of those 22 ton wagons and as he mentioned, he is not using auto fill. He is hand controlling it so he hast to keep a constant eye on where the pile is in the wagon and where he is as far as the header cutting the corn. Having someone talk to you is a little distracting so I really appreciated his time and letting me do the ride along and talk a little bit about the work that was being done.
Only thing missing is the smell, I love the smell of fresh green corn chop !!!
Maybe you should come harvest corn with him sometime
I whole heartedly agree, the smell is amazing
Same

The serene forest setting is captured so well. Your video is incredibly calming and beautiful!
Still think that chopping silage is one of my favorite things I ever done on the farm
One of my favorites. When I was a kid all I wanted was a toy forage harvester. Very cool to watch them at work.
I love how quick and efficient these forage harvesters are. Well done, John Deere !
They process acres into to toms quickly. They move 22 tons in about three minutes.
Watching the harvesting machines is so satisfying!
Corn chopping vids are always some of my favorite to watch. It's a shame there aren't more NH choppers around to see. Almost non existent here in my area of the state..
The FR is a cool chopper. I would like to film one. Stay tuned for video on an NH 2100 whopper chopper.
i love the 4420 John Deere combine

Can remember when I was young and worked for two different custom silage teams, bring back such memories operating these cutters.
Very cool. What choppers did they run?
Cool video 👍👍👍
Self propelled forage harvesters are the coolest farm equipment for me...
Agricultural technology is so modern, thanks to corn harvesting machines, people have less trouble.
Good video to watch on Sunday evening, thanks Jason 👍
I just filmed this harvest yesterday. It was great to be able to put it out quickly.
@@bigtractorpower awesome

I really enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing it. You do a great job narrating it also.
Choppers are impressive😁👍 I love the smell of corn silage👍👍
My favorite harvester to film.
I love silage farming Back when my papa farmed He ran a pull behind silege chopper With a 4440 pulling it
The 4440 is such a great tractor. I watched a few chopping when they were new.
That is cool Bigtractorpower
That guy don’t want to talk..he just wants to chop corn!..lol!!
It’s hard to talk with so much going on. I appreciated the ride along. The wagons fill 22 tons in about 3 minutes. Always on the move.

2:15 Oh my god, what a powerful machine, it can pull the entire trunk
Thank you for watching.
Corn chopping time already?! Wow well that corn was pretty hard Cool video!
I would guess in three weeks I may be filming some combines in corn. Summers going by fast.
I love being able to chop crossways to the cornrows.

Thank you for watching. Just filmed this chopper yesterday.
Keep the video's coming.
Many more on the way.
Howdy bigtractorpower
Super💯video.
Thank you. Filmed it Saturday. Great day in the field.
That’s cool you don’t usually see a forge harvester because farms are mostly crop
I really like this video
great video I have a JD 3970 with a 2 row head using a 8110 JD to pull it .
Great chopping team. I would like to see them in action

I run a fr9060 newholland on our dairy. I’m more fond of case but that Deere sounds good.

JOHN DEERE 9500i Forage Harvester Chopping Corn does the job very well
One of the best.
@@bigtractorpower I am passionate about these things too. Looking forward to learning more.
Hi from Dexter🏠Missouri
Hi James. Glad you could see the 9500i in action.
Nice
Thank you for watching. Just filmed it yesterday.
JOHN DEERE 9500i Forage Harvester Chopping Corn
As always.
Thank you.
👏👏👍👍👌👌
😁👍
Did he not have a camera on the spout?
I did not ask I have filmed other choppers where you could see the cameras screen, but I did not ask her during this ride along.

Maybe on a red one 😁

They are a big cost but they do big work also.
I guess the forage harvest operator was a little shy....
There is too much going on for the operator to carry on a conversation
We choped corn last moth
You must be in Texas ?
@@bigtractorpower when is your next video
@@FarmerDerek-r6z Tuesday
@@bigtractorpower can I get a shout out in that video
I'm courious if anyone running 16 row Kemper heads on a JD forage harvester
The largest header is the Easy Collect from Krone. It cuts 14 rows. John Deere, Claas and New Holland’s largest head is 12 rows.
@bigtractorpower will be interesting if anyone builds 16 row or bigger heads in the future
Its a forage chopper not a forge chopper
Thank you. The video has been out 24 hours and I missed that auto correct had mislabeled the title. It is fixed.

The cartel 9500 I nothing runs like a deer away from its employees
Yet they only move skidsteers and compact tractors to Mexico. Research.
great video!
