The worst thing about not having DLC is that for the next game we will have Carnage, Green Goblin, Doc Ock and Chameleon, it will be another rushed game unfortunately.

This news doesn’t disappoint me, it scares me. Spider-Man 3’s story is already packed enough as it is. It’s gotta introduce and develop Silk’s character, set up a Green Goblin/Doc Ock return team-up, balance all three Spiders’ stories (while still focusing on Peter since Doc and Gob are HIS villains) . And now on top of that they have to add on Chameleon and Carnage.
That is too much for one game. Even if the story is as long as GOW: Ragnarok (~24 story campaign) it’s still not gonna be enough. Something is gonna have to be cut or rushed, which will only drag down the game instead of uplifting it. And it doesn’t need to be this way. They could always do a second Miles Morales game that introduces Silk (which I think they should do cause him and Cindy could develop another brother sister type bond like what he had with Phin. Plus, that would mean that in a third game, they only have to develop Silk’s dynamic with Peter) or a solo Venom game where he fights Carnage (like many people have been demanding).
But nothing is official yet. And to anyone who points out the hack last year as proof that we have more content coming down the line, the hack also included data for DLCs for Spider-Man 2 and since those have been scrapped, we can’t assume that the other games revealed are still in development.
The developers of Spider-Man 3 deserve all the time in the world they need to make a great game. Maybe “scared” was an exaggeration, but I’m definitely nervous that this will only hurt the game and Insomniac’s reputation. We all want a satisfying ending. Insomniac’s Spider-Man deserves one
I still think this game should've get at least substantial post-launch updates and i dont mean silly trivial useless costumes, i mean actual gameplay improvements for combat, traversal and more QOL stuff. It's clear the game was rushed (based on the some interviews and the if you know you know) and there's no way to deny that, if there's a game that actually NEEDS a Director's cut unlike most PS games, is this one.

@@Mrsplifferdoodle And why is he a Spider-Man villain? What ties Spider-Man to Carnage other than they've fought frequently, which, no, Venom has fought Carnage more than Spider-Man has. With Venom and Carnage, it's a genuine rivalry with hatred built into it with an interesting story. Not only is the Venom Symbiote the parent of the Carnage Symbiote, but Eddie Brock and Cletus Kasady were former cell mates for some time, long enough for Eddie to understand just how depraved Kasady truly is. And when Cletus became Carnage, Eddie felt directly responsible, ironically in the same way Spider-Man initially saw Venom. Carnage is a beast that Venom feels he must put down himself, and their hatred for each other has only grown throughout the years. That is miles more interesting than Spider-Man fighting Carnage simply because he feels obligated to as a hero. The only reason some still call Carnage a Spider-Man villain is because he appeared in his book first even though Venom didn't have his own comic series yet. Yeah, Carnage has an intense rivalry with Venom, moreso than Spider-Man.
The main problem I had with the game was that they didn't even add any new suits people had been asking for back when they were waiting for it to be released, they didn't add the Across the Spider-verse 2099 Spider-Man for Peter, instead they gave us weird suits that made no sense and were horrible
They quite literally did that with a majority of the suits being from previous games, and literally the 4 suits recently added with the collab suits.

Honestly I'm not mad at all. They never confirmed it in the first place, so I tried to keep my expectations low. It does make me a little nervous how they're going to be able to juggle chameleon, carnage, Cindy, Otto, and Norman in one game. I feel like there were some issues juggling things in Spider-Man 2. If Peter does die or fully retire, I want it to be good. I don't want it to be rushed. My favorite Spider-Man needs a proper sendoff if that's what's happening. That aside, I do have faith in Insomniac for making Spider-Man three the best it can be! I'm super excited for that game! 😁❤️💙🕷️🕸️
I think they can juggle all of those characters and more. They just gotta make a game that is well balanced.

@@TheRealMickeyFactz that's very true! The first game was perfect! Don't get me wrong I love the second game to pieces, but I can't help but feel like some characters and story elements were rushed. If Miles would've gotten more time with Harry, it would've made more sense for him to fight Venom at the end. Right now it just feels out of place and like something I have to get done, as opposed to when you fight him as Peter you can feel the emotion behind it. Miles and Harry have zero connection and I feel like if they spent more time together, they could be good friends too. I can be honest and say act three was a little rushed. In the first game the escaped criminals and sable agents were all around the city through the entirety of act three, yet in this game the Symbiotes are all around the city about halfway through Act 3. It didn't feel as complete as the first game did, and I'm just worried the same mistake will be made with the third one. Green goblin and Doc Ock are my two favorite Spider-Man villains, and I really hope it will be great! I'm sure it will, I think I'm just nervous because of the few things that hfelt a little rushed in this game. :)

Can’t lie. Insomniac dropped the bag with the post launch plan for Spider-Man 2. I get the leaks definitely didn’t help but in comparison to the first game? Pitiful
I’ve accepted no dlc since the hack happened tbh. Just because we found the hint of dlc in the game files doesn’t mean it was finished or scrapped entirely so from then on I knew it wasn’t likely to happen.
I’m not too upset because I already knew there wasn’t going to be any story dlc, especially since it wasn’t even confirmed by Insomniac to begin with. But seeing Spider-Man 2 coming to PC was mind blowing because it’s happening sooner than expected, which is a good way to bring new players in.

Company has gone down the drain since they let Sony buy them. The first game was fantastic but making PlayStation their official bosses has brought nothing but issues for SM2 story and content wise. It really depends on how Sony is going to address Insomniac. If they let the devs cook and let them truly take their time, then it's going to be a masterpiece.
Games like Cyberpunk, the GTA Defective Edition, etc, have CLEARLY proven that games nowadays need delays. Sony needs to get off their high horses with their deadlines and shit and understand that this isn't the PS2 era where you can make a game in under a year. Shit is complicated in today's day and age.
They shoulda known that fans would want DLC for this game, but it seems like they’re just gonna focus on Wolverine. There’s nothing wrong with that, in theory, but having more to look forward to in Spider-Man 2 woulda been great. Make the DLC, then get to Wolverine. Fans coulda waited a little bit longer for that title.

Tbh I fucking hate it that this was it, because the game is too short to ask for a 80€ price tag and I even paid for the collectors edition. This didn’t feel any rewarding at all like the first two games did. Honestly it’s disappointing.

Honestly, when it comes to the Carnage plot, this may be for the best. Getting a new symbiote, and possibly the return of Venom? I feel such a story deserves more than a DLC.
Most post story DLC I've seen is rather mid, as they typically don't want to give too much of future games away, and don't want to overshadow the finale. Do you honestly want a symbiote story with those limitations in mind?

The only thing that I could say is that a dlc now is not that far fetched because god of war ragnarok had a dlc a year after the game launched, and they've been saying that they don't have any dlc planned for the time being on social media when fans ask about it.
It bums me out but I’m not mad at Insomniac. They did go through a rough time with that hack(which probably did cancel any planned DLC). I am Grateful for what we have. I do hope for some small gameplay features in the game(like adding a snow mode or maybe allowing us to walk around Peters home & EMF anytime we want).

This is the most disappointing game I’ve ever seen, not bad just that it hurts that it was going to be so much more every time i play it, fuck Sony and those hackers but i also don’t like the lack of comfortable from insomniac they should’ve definitively said no last year.
If they don’t make a venom game I’ll lose hope in them. They haven’t even dropped another teaser for Wolverine. NO DLC for their best selling game ever. Cyber attack or not the transparency and lack of communication with the fans is killer. Guess I’ll have to replay the venom mission for a while.

Insomniac really fell off after the Miles Morales game. They had us wait a whole year after the release of a game that most people would consider a disappointment just to tell us there won’t be any story DLC. I would’ve loved to have known much sooner in advance so we could all put this to bed. Their communication has always been garbage. What a fumble.

I have noticed that some comments mention that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was rushed. Honestly, it doesn't feel that way. But I can see where people are coming from. But still, like I keep saying, Insomniac did cook with this one. And it was a cheif's kiss. I am a 5/10 when it comes to being upset because it isn't nice to have high expectations for something, and it never happens.
It came out buggy as hell, lacked basic features from previous games, and even had no additional DLC that was hinted at. This game was definitely rushed. You can say it's good, great even, but to say it wasn't rushed is just denial.

Im still hopeful for some suits at least before the PC release next year, while im happy for the pc players for the mods and stuff......could the devs add the rest of the suits from the first game, as with some new weather options for the PS5 and a couple more new suits as well for the 1st anniversary, Pro update in November, or the Game Awards in December? 😊

Honestly i was a little bit dissapointed but also glad that we can see the carnage plotline,the chameleon in the next game. I accept they are working on other projects and the finale will be the best marvel's Spider-man game we have seen before. I never doubted in a spider-man game so i am excited to see what will happen in the next game.

It's obvious they're doing this to focus on Spin-off games. DLCs are something only hard-core fans remember. DLCs are usually a way of making money but I guess it ain't a priority for Sony as a platform owner.
Maybe no dlc but they should keep adding more updates to it like more comic suits, improved air trick flow for Peter’s traversal, and adding more colors to tendrils.

He is only shown to be incompetent and weak.
He loses every single fight he’s in unless he has help from miles, yuri or a suit upgrade.
That includes the MJ boss fight.
She saved herself after overpowering Spider-Man.
Not to mention, Spider-Man himself would literally be dead in several sequences in this game if he wasn’t saved.
That’s what fans mean when they say Spider-Man was nerfed.
I was hoping for DLC to redeem him.
But I guess we’ll have to wait for his third game…
Where if I’m honest, they will probably just retire him or kill him off.
I hope I’m wrong about that but sweet baby hasn’t given me a lot of faith in this franchise.
I say this as a genuine fan that wants things to get better.
I am not a mindless hater. I want this franchise to succeed.
But they treated Spider-Man so much differently, even in the first game where I had issues as well.
But again, at least the first game gave him bad @ss moments.

I think ,it's good there's non ,because there were one ,it might ruin SM3 story ,if they are planning for a trilogy.
Good ,now Insomniac can focus on finishing wolverine in peace.
Let's just hope they change their minds and do the dlcs, after all, we can be entertained by the mods since it's coming to PC.

I'm still convinced that the massive hacks/leaks from insomniac caused the DLC to be scrapped. Wolverine was their next big game and major plot points and, of course, gameplay was basically free to watch/play online, and that caused them to pretty much put ALL of their priorities on reworking their Wolverine game instead of making the Spider-Man dlc
While that does suck, I'm happy that they're moving on from Spider-Man 2. It's just wasn't as good as the first game, or drastic for that matter. I don't mind spin-offs being similar like the miles game but the sequel should've been something more, and it made me realize how boring the first game web swinging was compared to other Spider-Man games, if the first game had no assist web swinging w full loop de loops it couldn't have been the best Spider-Man game ever

Even if they aren’t making “story dlc” the very last one was the spiderverse dlc- and that was literally just a filter.
You don’t need to add the story stuff I would ASSUME they made the outfits right?
There’s no way they were working on Wolverine, Spiderman the great web, and they didn’t even attempt to touch the dlc for Spiderman 2? That makes no sense at all.
I should have believed all those people who were saying from day 1 there will be no dlc....atleast won't be this much disappointed

At the end of the day I'm disappointed but I don't know what's going on behind the scenes so I can't really judge them i just hope that we get Wolverine soon

Even though there is no DLC for Marvel Spider man 2, I am fine with the pc version of the game.
