BEFORE THE POST OFFICE, THERE WAS THE JONES BARBER SHOP. THE FEDS MADE OUR FAMILY MOVE TO FOURTH AVE. THE MAN ALWAYS GETS HIS WAY. WE RAN THE ARCADE BEAUTY SALON UPSTAIRS FOR OVER 83 YEARS. WHEN MY FATHER DIED, I LET IT GO. IT WAS A SAD DAY FOR ME, BUT THE BEST THING TO DO

I lived in Nashville all my life I still live here and love this place but especially growing up. I visited the arcade nearly every weekend it was my favorite place. I got my first pixie hair cut upstairs shop bought clothing peanuts all the time . Went in to work there as an engraver while I was pregnant with my second child.. I've shopped eat and worked as well as my older brother. I lived in the East Edgehill area went to school at East Nashville Sr. High. We attended church every Sunday as well, I think a lot about those good ole days, we had some tough times but it was a simple and enjoyable time. I will never forget those wonderful days, it so special to me.

In the 70s. There was a shoe store with this black guy work. And he dressed in shiny cowboy outfits.

I’ve worked on the phone lines here, everything is under the arcade. Not a purty site under there.
