- Hello everyone! This morning, as I was passing by a street, I noticed that the sidewalk was overgrown with weeds and littered with trash. Seeing this, I felt quite uncomfortable, so I decided to take the time to clean up the sidewalk, hoping to create a cleaner environment for everyone around.
However, while I was working, a woman came up to me and asked why I was cleaning the sidewalk. Not only that, she became angry when she realized that I had cleaned up the trash that she and some others had been dumping there regularly. I honestly couldn’t believe that someone would be upset about an act of cleaning up the environment. But the good news is that other residents supported and encouraged me to continue with the task. Although today was both sad and tiring, I feel very satisfied because the sidewalk is now clean again. I hope that small actions like this can help make our neighborhood more beautiful.
As usual, we start by clearing the weeds and sorting the inorganic waste into the trash bins. The organic waste and grass clippings are taken to an empty lot where they dry out and eventually burn. I don’t put the grass in the bins because it would overload them and make it difficult for the garbage collectors. Since we only have a motorbike, we can transport small amounts of waste, and unfortunately, we don't have the funds to rent a truck to haul everything to the landfill.
While our contribution may seem small, it’s our way of giving back to the community. I dream of the day when I can afford better equipment to make this work faster and more efficient. It's hard and tough enough to just do sidewalk. He is alone. He works his butt off and you critisize him for not doing more . Shame shame
It makes zero sense that the sidewalks on both sides of the street are maintained with the exception of the area you just cleared. The city needs to fire whoever has that job.
