I live down the road from Dan in South Africa. His small performances at cafes and small concert halls and such are absolutely amazing. But his quiet solos are what makes him truly special. He basically turns his guitar to zero volume and the whole crowd is so quiet you can hear everything he plays like he is right next to you.
Dan Patlansky is in the hall of fame of the best blues rock guitarists and artists alive and playing today. He is in the league with Joe Bonamassa, Eric Gale and Warren Haynes. That is hallowed company. The way he smoothly navigates from rhythm to his leads--off the charts terrific!
saw him open up at a Satriani concert here in the UK last year, he's a magnificent performer who obviously feels what he plays, his albums don't do him full credit, could do with more of his soloing on them, but it's refreshing to find someone with their own sound, thanks for this video
This is so cool, what a fantastic guitarist really incredible. It is so nice to hear a guitarist play with great spirit, great energy and great feel and singing as well! Fantastic x peace and love x
Nice freaking attack on the lead work on Stop the Messing. Goes after those leads with intensity and makes them smoke. Love Bet on Me. Don't we all need someone to take a bet on us sometime. I sure do. soul into getting where he is--and lots of hard work. Excellent songwriter. Terrific guitarist. Entertaining performer.
He dances between speaking like an American and speaking like a South African. I can't get over it. He sings in an American accent, but adjusting to how he normally speaks sounds so foreign.
Strangely enough, he was in New Orleans paying his dues when Katrina struck, he even lost some of his equipment in the evacuation, he did a live show with WWOZ radio station host in New Orleans and the beautiful song they did was called Blues for New Orleans, I love this song - ruclips.net/video/bj_RuSHK7iA/видео.html
We can't see your point. Musicians all over the world had maybe similar feelings when they play the blues. I'ts less a thing about the colour of skin more about the feelings of a human being.
Not bad but not amazing in content. I listened to several songs, eh. Chaotic and somewhat sloppy in picking technique. Plenty of delay and gain its hard to tell fully. I will listen to more. I have players in my town that would eat this guys lunch in creativty that no one has heard of. maybe even one of you.
That is the stratiest a strat could ever strat
Are you kiddind me!Why havent I ever heard of Dan ?He is closest to a guitar god Ive ever heard, what a rocker!Im straight up sold.
Super underrated guitarist ! Helps me get through these college days

100% I saw him a few times at Die Stoep, sadly closed now, in Nelspruit. That intimacy, yeah!
Lucky you!He is amazing!

Mind blown . . . every time I hear one of his songs, and every time you think it can't get any better, it does.
Same here. He is one of my favorite guitar players and it is only a couple of months since I first heard him play.
true. look at his latest album!

Dan's The Man!!
Great guitarist!!

@@chrislouw9811 Yes
Do you generate the whah from magick?
Tone...for...days. Makes me want to sell my car and get a pre-cbs strat.
That is Abuse at 28.50
I was sexually harassed at 29:09

A face that can challenge John Mayer...
not at all! Great players both, but Mayer is a hell of a composer. Just another level.
He's a mix of Mayer and Frusciante in terms of his plating style and sound
john mayer dont u mean john mayall
jamie wesson nope, Mayer
Well that Strat was definitely out of tune by the end there. Awesome music though.
Cool band but I can't understand the singer's diction of the lyrics.
i love Dan but what is he doing with his face ?
Stratocaster Man his face isnt half as bad as mayers when hes playing
Hahaha. You need know a Brazilian guitar player called Patrick Souza.
Wish he would clean up the great but gritty tone now and then.
Saw him open up at a new Famous Footwear store grand opening in Grand Rapids....10 year old boys seemed to like him and think he was original
La musica e blues Nera ma una un gruppo dove non ce un un Nero e solo bianchi ☺👎
We can't see your point. Musicians all over the world had maybe similar feelings when they play the blues. I'ts less a thing about the colour of skin more about the feelings of a human being.
The guitar playing is good, the songwriting and singing are not.
Yooo send me the link to your music
Must be better than this and this is amazing
